wait can you turn damage off in the options? I would think you could, given you can turn off tire and fuel wear?

my only concern is HD audio being passed through the hdmi splitter.
basically split the HD signal into 2. use one for gameplay on the TV, and use the other to convert to SD and capture to the PC on the cheap.

It seems like we'll all need a 787b or equivalent later on when you hit extreme. Even the lvl 19 Gran Turismo race is really hard for non race cars. I got gold on the first 2 tracks there, but couldn't keep up on the other ones. If you guys have beaten that lvl 19 GT race let me know what you used.

I don't think that will work. First the PC will look like complete shit. It's resolution will be an unusable 640x480 and it will be interlaced. Also you won't be able to stream any copy protected movies over that since it breaks the HDCP cycle (not that you planned to). Once you connect your PC you will quickly realize that it was a horrible idea.

did any of you see my Black Ops vid? while not the best, I think it was fairly decent and served its purpose - I did it using a Flip HD mini videocam, mounted on a tripod.

So, like...the wife knew I was after the Collector's Edition, which is next to impossible to score up here in Canadark. Anyhow, she found one and so, has told me to return the unopened regular edition I bought...
The catch: I get GT5 in Xmas.

my god. Is it just me and my tv settings or do you guys notice the lighting is totally jacked on a few of these tracks. Like grand valley, my god. The whole damn sky is blown out. Looks horrible. ESP when coming out of bridges. That happens in other tracks too. Sky is blown out in la sarthe too. It really sucks.

Ive noticed if you come out a tunnel it gets really bright but I think thats just the effect they were going for. If you turn the lights on in a dark room everything is really bright and your eyes adjust. I think they wanted to force it to make it more real.

and b-spec SUCKS. the driver blows. this one slow turn at cape ring kept getting him, where he would go full throttle out of it, spin out of course, then one time waited on the side for ALL the cars to go by before he pulled out and drove again. he was just sitting there, and I was yelling like "FUCKING GOOOO!!!"

yeah that tunnel lighting effect is there on purpose. that's what happens to your eyes once you come from a dark to light area before your eyes adjust to the extra light. I think it's pretty neat, I still wish they shadows didn't look 8-bit....

I do miss the feature in GT4 where you could fast forward through the b-spec races and they'd go at double-speed, that helped a lot on the endurance races.

I need faster cars. Anybody have a car capable of doing sub 6:45 on Nurburgring? I've wasted too much cash on upgrading cars to see if they'll get a lot of HP and handle well.

Tip: that mazda 08 concept car you get for winning one of the bspec races is ridiculous! It's for 486hp and weighs like 650kg! That's a seriously low weight-to-HP ratio! Then I bumped it another 50hp and now it's got a 1.18 kg-to-hp ratio! This thing flies! Highly recommended!
