I play with the buttons for gas and brake. Been doing it that way since GT3.

Suzuka Master
Just tried GT5... I honestly have mixed feelings, the graphics are outstandly well done, both interior and exterior. The backfire on faster cars is nice and the tracks are well made. Weather simulation is another huge plus.
However, I turned all driving aids off on the F40 on Suzuka and came away unimpressed of the driving dynamics. Maybe it's an acquired taste but per example I can't feel the front tires starting to slide for instance. When I'm drifting it also doesn't feel natural.
I played around an hour which might not be enough to be entirely subjective. Call me crazy but I thing GT4 had the best dynamics altogether followed by FM3.
And where the fuck is Porsche?
I'll still buy it though.
Flamesuit on.

In GT3 and GT4 I used the buttons to accelerate and brake, but I started GT5, turned off all the aids and learned that braking too hard while cornering will spin the car. So I switched to using the stick since it's a lot easier to modulate brakes and throttle. I'd have to do a lot of rearranging stuff to mount a wheel/pedal setup somewhere. Hmm...
Anyway, I have an absurd amount of game money for the level I'm at, probably since I've mainly been doing the special events, licenses and practices.
Overall, I'm still mixed on it, too, but I'll see what I discover. I initially bought a PS2 after seeing Gran Turismo 3 and the at-the-time eminent release of GT5 got me to buy a PS3 last year. (Even without a GT for a while, the experience of the Bioshocks and The Orange Box was worth it).
It does seem like there are a lot fewer races this time. GT4 had an absurd number of series, although it wasn't easy to keep track which manufacturers had special races.
But animated Jeff Gordon scares me.

You can have my dodge ram that i used for the pickup truck event. I added some bits and its got like 450 hp or so now. add GTP_Sabre if you want it and I'll gift it to you because I know I'll never use it again

I came close to finishing, I think I went off the track at the last turn on the last lap. I think I was in fifth, it's almost impossible to catch those front four.

made a mistake of picking an S2000 for the FR challenge.
pitted me against a 135i and E46 M3s a 240hp car vs cars with 300+
its faster in the corners, and i can brake later because its lighter, but in the straightaways, it just doesn't have enough power.

The fastest way to make cash, at my level, for me is... Do the super car race at Daytona. Professional level 11 race. I've got a maxed out fairlady z and set up the transmission for the track. Easy 17k in less than 2.5 mins. You'll be facing fast cars. So unless you have a maxed out car then don't try.
Anybody gift anything yet? Is it sent exactly the way you have it? Mods and all?

When you buy a custom transmission....You have to customize it. You can easily set out what speed it maxes out at. I set my 370z for 224mph for that track.
It happened to me too haha. I topped out at 160 and was like WTF. Couldn't even draft to keep up.

In general stuff, the brake bias is adjusted to 5/5 as the default. I'm having an easier time if I change that to 7 in the front / 3 in the back.

Yea it was the beginner one. They matched me up with more powerful cars. I could pass them in corners, but on the straights, they just passed me up like I was trash.
