The "only" working prototype?
There has to be more than one, considering the launch is less than 2 months away.
I'm sure there are quite a few working prototypes built and currently being tested.
I find it hard to believe that less than two months out there is only one.

Its what we were told...maybe they meant the only one they had. It sounded odd to me, too. But it does make for a better story.
probably a dumb question regarding the next gen consoles... but I'm assuming that if you're playing MP... say Call of Duty on the 360, and your friends are on XBox ONE, they don't mix the matches, right? (so in other words, 360 people only play with other 360 people and likewise with XBox ONE players)
a friend of mine works at EA/Vancouver and I just asked about this, he said he's pretty sure there will be NO cross plateform MP gaming (but not 100%).... but he's 100% sure with BF4 (since it's an EA game), there will be no cross plateform gaming

So if you were looking for a gaming system for kids under 10 would you pick the Xbox One or the PS4?
We have the Wii now. Kids will not be playing violent games if that makes a difference.

More than likely, you'll be using the console as a home entertainment device rather than a gaming console. Even the 360 has turned into a gaming/entertainment family console.
With that said, do you already have a current-gen console? If not, look into a PS3 or 360, they're relatively cheap now-a-days and you can choose from a massive amount of games right when you buy it.
The new consoles look to be geared more towards the teen/adult audience. Coming directly from Xbox's website, you only have a few games to choose from for kids.

NSXNEXT, do your kids love to play those Wii sensor games like Just Dance, etc?
If so, then the Xbox One would be more to their liking with Kinect 2.0.
Microsoft is doing more with those kinds of games than Sony (if Sony even starts). I know the Disneyland Kinect game for 360 was a huge hit with kids, along with the other free Kinect fun pack games, like the one where you build up a giant castle with towers and then you become a dragon and breath fire and start smashing it all - also fun with adults
Plus you can get all ripped/in shape with that free one year Kinect work out with actual programs like P90X and Jillian Michaels.

Guys Target this week will do Buy 2 get 1 free. 3 games for $120 as receipt will show games at $40 each.
God I wish PS3 would get HBO, Xfinity, and ESPN. Then I wouldn't have to connect my laptop to the TV.
Microsoft is finally ready to reveal the "first wave" of apps that will arrive with its $500 Xbox One in each of the 13 launch markets and it's a surprisingly healthy list. In the US we're not seeing any services that weren't already on Xbox 360, but internet video standards like Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, HBO Go (not at launch), Vudu, Crackle and Redbox Instant are all present and accounted for along with TV everywhere efforts from Fox, CW, ESPN and Univision. International audiences can expect to see locally available services like Netflix, Lovefilm, Orange and Canal+, where applicable (check the official blog for a full list).
While there are no apps for Time Warner Cable, Comcast, or AT&T's U-verse at launch, Verizon FiOS is present and accounted for as a traditional pay-TV provider in the US. The most notable missing app award would have to go to YouTube or BBC iPlayer (both are also absent from the PS4 apps list), although the console's integrated browser could help with that.

I did stop manually connecting my laptop to the TV thanks to Chromecast though... so that has been nice.
that's such bull shit that MS banned them... Target fucked up when they accidentally shipped out the units early. Why should they get banned?? (but FWIW, supposedly, they get their accounts reinstated on launch day)
And this why MS can go fuck themselves...they hold reign over your accounts...doesnt matter if you pay for them...they choose when and for whatever reason they want to ban you.
Happy to have sold my 360...will never give MS any more of my money.
That said...not getting a ps4 anytime soon either. Maybe when the price drops.

they didn't remotely detonate their consoles.. I don't see the big deal.. got your console early? cool. cant play online until launch day like everyone else... stop whining.

Nothing I've heard/read yet has motivated me to even look into buying the new Xbox.
That being said, as soon as you assholes start bragging about them I'm going to want in on it.
