Amazon has the kinect 250gb bundle going for 350. Get it before it's oos.

 

Jumped on the deal yesterday, going to be shipped today.

So excited, played the Kinect during NYE and my whole family is hooked.

 

it really is addicting, doesnt feel gimmicky like some of the wii stuff.. (i havent tried the move yet)

i could see this taking a majority of my gaming time.

There's an upcoming firmware update which may render your old 360 incompatible with games. If your system is one of these, you can fill out a repair form and MS will send you a new 360S in exchange for your old one. Updates start tomorrow...I'm hoping I get a new 360S!

I had one of the original launch consoles too, but it was sent in for repairs and I most likely got some other repaired one back.

Of course there are certain rules and fine print but it's not a bad deal. If you don't want the Xbox you can get 10% off the PC instead (this Xbox retails for $200).

 

It's not a big deal or anything, but I'm not really sure why this was merged into here...I posted it more for people that are looking for a PC, and if you didn't already have an Xbox, then this is a good deal. Or even if you don't want the Xbox, you can get 10% off a PC purchase.

you know that use of the kinect is merely an Extra or an option on games that you'll actually be buying...

i dont want my kinect to beome a primary controller for my games either, but i am excited that they are incorporating it into big selling games so that i dont have to buy Kinectimals to justify using it....

but on games that matter, i wouldnt worry about kinect taking over or being necessarry.

they are supposedly adding one in the next update along with youtube/bing search etc.

but all console browsers blow, and im sure theirs will too.. its cool to play with at first.. but soon you realize its about 10X less practical than a smartphone.

 

I don't mind so much the PS3 browser but I guess that depends on the sites. It does suck for You Tube though. As long as Red Tube works amirite!

Hopefully they will do a better job of making things backwards compatible this time. They'll also probably have a way of making Kinect and it's games compatible going forward.

I'm sure they will wait. Just because they are announcing it next year, does not mean that it will come out in the near future. Announce it next year and make it available the following holiday season.

I still think it is too soon for a new console though.
