guys, guys... here's a word to the wise... if GT4 is making you mad and frustrated... stop playing. Take a break. Go outside. Do something else for a few hours. A few days. GT4 should be a pleasurable experience, not an infuriating one. Of course, I have been frustrated with GT4 on occasion as well - but I'm just saying it shouldn't continually cause you frustration.

I only have 2 golds. DAMN YOU GT4. :p JK. Believe me I'm having fun. When I'm at work I just wanna play the game. I was gonna go to the gym which I mysteriously cut off the last month but I was tired as hell last night.

 

Yeah I don't mind that I haven't done jack shit yet in the game. I'm a GT noob so I like learning how to drive by doing the licenses. Although there have been a few times where I wanted to throw my controller out the window (i.e. being thousandths of a second from gold/silver/bronze).

 

god don't remind me!!! well, you already did. GT4 TOTALLY FUCKED my gym schedule!!!! I was going to the gym 2-3 times per week since Sept 2004 - I was on a roll - I was in the best shape I've ever been - yeah that all changed Feb 22nd 2005. I have been to the gym TWICE since that day. It's kind of sad. But - I know I am going to go back to the gym schedule again... hopefully SOON!!!! :banghead:

However, I was expecting such a thing to happen, after GT4 was released. Not that that makes me feel better. Quite pathetic, really.

Apparently GT4 works with the PS2 hard drive. Early on, people said this wasn't possible. But now, people are doing it. Apparently it greatly improves load times in the game menus and screens, but the loading of tracks takes about the same time. Needless to say, I am and I think I am going to buy a HD now.



Download this RAR file tells you what all you need to do. The download is slow but the file is small. Sounds like you basically rip the GT4 DVD to your comp, setup the HD on your computer and transfer the game to the HD using the included tools, and then install into the PS2. I'm a n00b at this (seeing how I've never done it) - but I've worked with DVD ISO's before so I'm gonna try it and see how it goes. And, I consider myself to be fairly technical.

^^^^ I would recommend you read through the thread at GTplanet before trying this, just so you can see what possible issues you may encounter. It's a good resource. I hope I don't have to mod my PS2 to do this, I am hoping I can just buy the FFXII or whatever pack that includes the 40GB HD and install that...... hmm.

 

Finished Special Conditions. No more rally or ice. The Escudo sucks for these races btw. I think I have to play with the settings because it gets no traction for 1st and 2nd and by the time you grip you have to turn. Oh and most of the hard races you win shitty old rally cars like a Mitsibushi Pajero and some old 240. :boo: The cars I used were the WRX Concept with a Stage 3 kit to make 400hp. On races where that was too slow I used either the Peugoet or the Lancia 420hp Rally cars for when I didn't need to turn so much. The WRX was easily the best car for me but I never won an STI nor EVO which I'm sure might be as good.

So now I'm at like 48% with less than 30 days left for the black crew with about $8million saved. I should be okay for all 4 right?

 

30 days is good for another DTM Championship run.

 

You should see me n my roommate play madden....controllers, desks, chairs....we gotta clear out the room just to make sure we don't break something.

btw, NOTHING can piss you off like Madden.....they pull sooo much bullshit in that game. Yet i used to be addicted to it. After realizing how dangerous it was, i switched over to something less harmful, like heroin

 

Am I already good for the cash though? I'm getting bored of the DTM.

 

The currency works slightly different in Chinese version(the one I own). I am not quite sure how much credit you need to get all 4 black LMPs. So another run at DTM is for insurance.

 

Well I got them and I have mixed feelings about them. They all handle great except one of the Nissans doesn't turn too tight. Whenever I go mixed tire combos though I lose all stability. 3 on the front and 1 on the back was very tough to maintain and 3/2 was a little better but still wear fast. I have the same problem with the Minolta. What did you guys do to help. Stabilizers were set all the way up on my Minolta and I stiffened the shocks a little bit more.

Yeah I just got the black cars too and I'm kinda dissapointed. They get very twitchy around 210. IMO the Toyota Minolta is faster and handles better than any of these.
