I have a story about that mission too:

I did alot of the missions early on before I did many of the races and I hadn't seen much of the NY track yet. So I went and bought the Honda and went and ran some practice laps. I got the rhythm down pretty well. I went back to the mission. The car felt COMPLETELY different. I dunno what the set-up is on the car on the mission but it is NOT stock and I don't know how you can find out what it is...

Makes those missions especially hard.
Honda @ New York? Are we talking about the same thing? The NY mission we commonly talk about is with the Toyota 2000GT. Is there another one?

Yep, the Japanese/European Accord. IIRC the AT it uses is a different one.

The USDM Accord, 2nd gen TL and CL all built in Ohio and they all have AT troubles.

Well the transmission is assembled in Japan. The K24 is a different series though.

Almost time for endurances which means Hello Minolta!

I'm on Race 11 of the F1's. Lost bad in Infineon but got 1st in the rest. You have to babysit this race especially in Laguna Seca. The computer eats the last right when the tires run low. I have to slow it down to 1 on BSpec. But I just can't stand Infineon. I gotta go back and do that bitch.

Not a bad idea for our next round of time trial. Any 300+hp RWD car @ N-Ring.

I really wish I could have tried the NSX Type-R at El Capitan but I didn't even get a chance. I just moved and am still unpacking. I only setup my PS2 etc. last night. I am gonna try the ITR @ Midfield.

I'm thoroughy destroying the Professional Hall right now. Even though my B-spec driver is an idiot (6000+ points) who still loses sometimes, so I have to A-spec the race and kill it.

24.4%... almost time for the Minolta.

Did you ever do ASpec. I got 6000 when I was at like 50%.

Yeah I have A-spec points. I think I have 3000-3500 or so. I've been doing the B-spec for all the long championship races (4+ laps). Basically, I'll practice each race in order to qualify 1st (2 laps of driving). Usually I'm pretty far ahead of the 1st place car, so I know I can win. But, due to time constraints, I'll just B-spec it, although 1/4 of the time I have to rerace in A-spec because my driver doesn't finish in 1st.

I think once you hit 6500 you're good. I started the F1 Champ. and it's 15 races but all endurance. I entered with around 6300 and I think I gained during the championship. I'm at race 12 and the last two races when on FAST 4, he pulled dirty from the computer. I won the Ring by a full minute. So I estimate I have to have around 6500. Too bad it sucks for Infineon.

WTF.... :insane:

I'm stuck at around 6800, seeing how I haven't played GT4 much at all lately.

I can't believe it. i B-Speced all the F1 races and I got hardly ANY B-spec points. I was in the 6300s and am still in the 6300's. I only drove in the practice to get the pole. What am I doing wrong?

I did finally get the C9. Where are the brakes! The car hauls ass though. I was up as high as 15 seconds after a couple of laps in the 24h Sarthe race but didn't buy the tires so I stopped because I pitted after 3 laps. The brakes are set so low. It was like 3/3. I lowered the ASM too so that I could turn. The F1 handles 120234x better but the C9's top end really helps. Going for the R8 next.

crazy how everyone has different impressions of the cars. I thought the C9 kicked ass in all areas.

Well considering how well the F1 handles and breaks and how I've been using it for the last week nothing feels good anymore.

fool... you need to try those GT4 time trial challenges (see other thread) - that will force you to try cars and tracks you might not normally try.

No shit. I can do them finally. When you're in that tournament it wouldn't even let me go into Arcade mode.
