360: Halo 3
I have a few videos I could submit. Pretty much everyone I know who has played Halo since the original Halo is really damn good, me included. I wonder if my video will still be eligible if there's tea bagging in it
Me and my friend used to do this, show each other replays of our sick videos. We played Halo 3 almost every day
but when I played again a couple months ago after not playing since November I got my ass whooped by a friend's 12-year old brother.
On that map with the two small warps in the middle on each side with the big yellow warp on the end, I saw some guy on my radar running towards the warp, and I chucked a plasma across the entire map pretty much and stuck him in the warp
Do we win anything for it? Or is it just a chance to get our name in the running? Hopefully I can get contacted by some people to get paid to play games, I'm a good overall gamer

i have to say i HATE Halo.....
I never played Halo 1....
I played Halo 2 on my xbox 360 regularly for a few weeks and found it "just okay". It ran well, looked ok (for an xbox game) but every Tom, Dick and Harry on the xbox live service were just unstoppable...
I bought into the hype machine of Halo 3 and bought it on release day. I played thru the campaign about 1/2 and 1/2 alone or with others on co-op and found that to be pretty enjoyable but never got comfortable with the controls.
I have played maybe a total of 20 online matches of Halo 3, it just SUCKS!!!
first of all, unless you are a seasoned verteran to the halo franchise, you suck. its ridiculous. I rarely get more than 2 kills and have never gottem more than 5. I frequently die 30-50 times in a match regardless of the gametype, number of players etc. What the fuck??? Now before you start namecalling and telling me I suck...well yes, i do suck at halo 3 but when it comes to reality based FPS's, I have no problem whatsoever being competitive and dominating on a regular basis....CoD4, GRAW 1 and 2, Rainbow6 Vegas, etc. On all of those games I have a blast, play well, score high, etc. Why is it that Halo 3 is so hard to get the hang of? Is it the cheesy space weapons? is it the fact that it takes 10,000 direct hits to drop a guy with most of those weapons? is it the cheesy space physics where you can jump 30 feet in the air and float down? I just dont get it. I sold my Halo 3 just last week after i sat on the shelf since before christmas and luckily its still worth nearly full price on the resale market...why? i have no clue, to me its a crap game that does not even stand up to GRAW 1.
Its got above average graphics, the online modes are solid and the system runs steadily, but the gameplay is just so over the top and impossible to master, i just dont get it.

I don't think Halo sucks it just got stale. I played Halo against others since Halo 1, then went on XBL for H2 and H3. I'm pretty damn good, some have seen me play but even some people can take me down. I've since gone to COD4, the only thing is being able to save replays and vehicles. Don't miss anything else, not the 12-year olds that won't shut up, who TK you, who kick your ass occasionally, etc.
And it the whole you-can-full-auto-any-gun thing blows, no skill really.

Wow this thread is long. Anyone have an issue playing campaign when they select "The Storm" board on Legendary? Everytime I select that level it refuses to load on anything other than normal difficulty. I have a friend who has the same problem. Just wondering if anyone would have any idea why and if its an issue with the game or system
Halo 3 Recon

But when I did have my 360 for a year before it RRODed, I actualy liked Halo 3. I can truthfuly say that I miss it. I would get OwNeD on that game though...some people on that game were just too good.. (kids that have no social life and do nothing but play H3 all day and night) <-- There seems to be alot of those people on the 360..Now it's all PS3 baby!

ELYRIA, Ohio —
A judge Monday rejected the defense that a teenage boy opened fire on his family because he was addicted to video games, convicting him of wounding his clergyman father and killing his mother after they fought over a game. Lawyers for Daniel Petric, 17, didn't contest that the boy shot his parents in October 2007, but insisted his youth and video game addiction made him less responsible.
Common Pleas Judge James Burge disagreed and pointed to evidence the boy plotted the crime for weeks.
Petric was convicted of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder and other charges. He faces a maximum possible penalty of life in prison without parole. The judge didn't set a sentencing date.
Prosecutors said Petric planned to kill his parents because he was angry that his father would not allow him to play the video game "Halo 3," in which players shoot alien monsters that have taken over the Earth.
During the trial, deputy prosecuting attorney Anthony Cillo described Petric as a cold, calculating killer who plotted to murder his parents, Mark and Susan Petric, and make it appear to be a murder-suicide by putting the gun in his father's hand.
Defense Attorney James Kersey has said that Petric was obsessed with the "Halo" series of video games, which he played 18 hours a day when he had the chance. Petric used his father's key to open a lockbox and remove a 9 mm handgun and the game.
Mark Petric, who is a minister at New Life Assembly of God in Wellington, testified that his son came into the room and asked: "Would you guys close your eyes? I have a surprise for you."
The father testified that he expected a pleasant surprise. Then his head went numb from a gunshot and he survived. His wife, Susan, 43, died of gunshot wound to the head.
Kersey said during the trial that when the teenager fled the grisly scene, he only took one item with him: the "Halo 3" game.

Personally, I love the Halo series, but I know it's not for everyone. I have many complaints with how bungie has set the game up as well. There are way too many ways players can abuse the ranking system, inconsistent game types, and far too many what seem to be bugs/glitches in the game piss me off. It's still a fun game to play.

^^^ I don't agree with that so much. There are fans that aren't necessarily good or great at it that continue to play the game, like myself. The problem with it is COD4 and so many other games have come out since that the number of players has just gone down.
I do agree that coming back to the game you will get owned by the really good guys, but this is where my previous complaints come in about the game setup. You'll get a group of guys, all friends that party up, all have ranks above say 48. They'll go into matchmaking, get put up against a set of guys that may or may not have rankings even remotely close to them. The game starts, people start getting owned and people start quitting. When you quit, you get penalized experience points for quitting, but if the matchmaking was setup nicer in RANKED play, this wouldn't be a problem. I never quit because I don't want to get penalized, and I think those that do are jackasses becuase playing against opponents better than you can help you get better faster. But if I don't quit, but EVEYRONE else on my team does, i'm screwed. Either way I'm screwed.
They should have imlemented rules where if you are in social matches, your party stays together, but in ranked matches, your team is split up regardless if you are in a party or not so that the game evenly matches up the teams so "owning" doesn't happen so rampantly.

FYI - the above scenario has happened to me MANY times where I'll match up in a ranked game against a sqaud where EVERYONE on their team is ranked really high and our team is lucky to have one, maybe 2 guys that are close to their ranking, and everyone else ranked HALF of what the other team is.

I never played Halo 1, I played Halo 2 maybe a few times, but I really got into Halo with Halo 3. I was in college and it's pretty much all I did during breaks between classes. I got into it, I like playing, but I really only play it because most games are pretty boring. There hasn't been a worthwhile release with good multiplayer in a while.
My Xbox RROD'd so we'll see what happens, we just picked up Resistance 2. Maybe I might give up video games, since it won't be worthwhile investing in another Xbox. Maybe I'll pick up MMOs again, who knows.
But I will say I'm a pretty calm person but I can say that Halo has gotten me stressed maybe 12 or so times, but mostly in the past two months or so, mostly due to lag issues.

people still play halo 3??? theres way to many newer/better games to bother with that turd anymore. online frag-fests are getting older than dirt, its so much more fun to play games with more of a co-op element like left 4 dead or resistance 2. halo 3 wasnt even that god when it came out, and definately does not necessitate further play...hell, id rather play goldeneye 007 on N64 than halo 3....and this is coming from a person who stood in line outside at midnight to get halo 3...
Fixed.
Yall are on crack.
Sure, the Halo series isn't new and it is far from having the best graphics, but you can't sit here and say it's not fun.

it because he sucks at it.
On average I usually see anywhere from 250,000-380,000 people playing halo 3 at any given time, everyday. I dont play every day or near it, however the lowest number of people playing I ever say was something like 50,000 at 5a.m. EST.
also I'm up for playing some night soon, I kinda need a new sata cable for my DVD drive..... been modding a bit.
