i recommend against it, if you are going in it for the money. Due to the length of training and especially if you specialize and compare it to the opportunity cost it isn't worth it

That said, if it's your passion it's never too late. Our graduating class of 162, 7 people were in the 40-50 age range and did it as second career

Depends

Some people pay minimum over 30 years

I did tons of moonlighting (helicopter transport) during 3 year residency and 3 year fellowship . So in addition to that money for first 36 months of real job lived like student and paid it all off

I think you are in the minority. It seems most Drs are lousy with $$ and the fact they make a decent amount allows them to do lots of stupid / silly things. Drs are good at what they do, but not so much when it comes to business and $$.
Congrats to you -

Congrats to you -
In the USA financial education is very poor in all fields.

You nailed it on the head
Physicians are horrendous in the business world and people take advantage

Aside from match day (when we match into residency and fellowship) other big day in a physicians life is signing day= when you get your first contract (job)

You usually sign for a job in October-March and you start your job in July.

Banks will approve you on a 1million dollar house loan with 5% down and no payments till your first check

On signing day 7 of 13 of my close friends all bought a house between 800-1m. Due to us starting our professional lives in our early 30s there is a need to overcompensate and that perpetuates the cycle of being in debt forever

Physicians may be high earners but as a result of poor decision making they aren't wealthy

well put... many people think that people that have a huge income or are rich = wealthy... that is usually never the case...

i don't care to be rich one day, just wealthy...

The car came with a full tank of gas

So the first tank we bought was tank #2.

Has 650 miles as of tonight, 30 day ownership

Plate is here
Registration is here
Title is here

Ordered pack of 12 oem filter
Given we fall under "severe driving conditions ," looks like 3 month OCI needs to be followed

Car comes with 2 year/24k mile free service

Using current mileage :
Month 3, 1800 miles oil change at home
Month 6, 3600 miles oil change at home
Month 9, 5400 miles oil change at dealer -free
Month 12, 7200 miles oil change at home

So maintenance cost for 12 months should be $105 for the year.

Similar to our bmws for the first 3 years subaru will give free wipers and cover all brake consumables , though we won't be needing them at the mileage she is incurring

I personally think Subaru is shooting themselves in the foot for not offering a hatchback.

Most 3G WRX/STi I see on the road are hatchback.

As a long time hatch and wagon owner of multiple brand I thought as you did

However numbers suggest otherwise
15/16 wrx body style upgrade has made it the best selling in subaru history if you look at units sold

I had two weeks off and thus I got it to the mileage it was

If I didn't touch it , mileage for the month would have been 287
