Window Tint - Blurry, Hazy ?

Question for those who have their windows tinted.

Does anyone else notice a Blurry or Hazy view through their rear window at night? Particularly when headlights are on and shine through the glass?

I've been struggling with my window tint for over a month now. I have my rear window and windshield tinted. During night driving, street lights and headlights from other cars look distorted and fuzzy. I took my car back to the tint shop and had all the windows re-done in a different brand film. Same issue.

The tint shop is very reputable and has done several of my friends cars with no issue.

They (the tint shop) are under the impression that the curvature of my glass is whats causing the blurry light issue.

I'd like to know from others who have their windows tinted. Preferably, those with auto-dimming mirrors at night (may cause some of the distortion).

Has anyone one else noticed an issue with their window tint at night? Any blurriness coming from headlights and street lights from other cars?

tint material, cure time, defroster lines all contribute to hazyness

if you just got the tint done, you'll need to let it cure....

Haven't noticed that with mine. Tint is 35% and I even have that annoying ceramic dot matrix Honda used to have on its cars. My rear view is autodimming, and the view is pretty clear. I had mine applied by a guy that does all the showroom cars at the local dealership.

Tint grade is one of the biggest things, but it sounds like they used quality materials based on what you said. I suppose the slope of the glass is a plausible cause, but I've never heard of that. Long shot, but the tint may come with a film that makes it easier for the installer to handle. You could get some glass cleaner (tint safe of course) and try wiping it down.

Have someone else get in the car and see if they notice the same thing you are seeing.
