Windshield weather stripping cracking?

Anyone else have this problem. I noticed it the first week of owning the car, and at my 2 month initial checkup I mentioned it and the service tech assured me it wont leak and its purely cosmetic since the windshield is glued down or something. Is this true or should I ask for replacement? There are bout 2 of these chunks missing on the front windshield and 2 more on the moon roof too!

that's real shitty.

i would expect a brand new car to have its weatherstripping intact

^ I agree.

^^ It should not leak. The windshield is glue down.

The moon roof suppose to leak thats why they have drain holes.

I would have them change both moldings if it's still under warranty.

Of course it has warranty its 3 months old the car. I want to have them fix these plus my spoiler is slightly coming undone too (surprise surprise). They said to both problems they would fix once it gets worse but Im going to just demand they fix it all

Looks like it got torn while it was being installed would be my guess, especially if there's multiple places. Must have been a Friday afternoon at the manufacturing plant. Those should be replaced under warranty, even if it's just cosmetic.

My 2006 Accord that I had bought brand new (long sold now), had a chipped volume knob that I noticed 2 days after I picked it up. I made them replace it under warranty and they didn't argue that it needed to be.

UPDATE

Dealer I purchased the car at told me today they are going out of business. So the guy said they were not sure if they would order the parts for me. I said ok and went to another local Acura dealer 15 miles away and they said they will NOT cover it under warranty and it looks like "lot damage" so the original dealership should be responsible..... so called back the original dealer and they said they would take care of it once the parts arrive next week. I find it crazy they wont deem it under warranty and just fix it, but as long as the original dealer does take care of it I will walk home happy and satisfied.

If a dealer won't cover it contact Acura Customer care. It will probably involve removing the windshield and replacing the weather strip.

That should not be happening at all on a car that new!!! But after you get it replaced and for maintenance going forward, shin-etsu grease is great for stuff like that!!

Acura 101 West in Calabasas, CA is going outta business. Luckily I have another Acura dealer literally 5 minutes from my house so no biggie

And as mentioned weatherstripping is replaced and looks good.

Honestly, I think the spoiler issues are more due to a design defect rather than installation issues. There are other threads.

I use Chris over at TO. I wonder how having the only other dealer in the area going out of business will impact the ability to get an appointment or loaner going forward.
