I can start my 2012 TL (Technology) remotely using Compustar remote starter. However when I go to the car with my keyless remote, and open the car door, car just shuts down and I got to restart it. This does not look normal to me. Any ideas?

 

Yes. My Acura (dealer accessory) remote starter does the same. I would prefer if it would stay running but ...
Also, if my doors are unlocked or the windows rolled down it remote starter won't activate.

 

You may be able to get rid of this security feature with a module or rewiring but the system was designed to do that. That way if someone manages to open the door, they can't steal the car as you are walking up to it.

 

Thanks for clarifying csmeance. Kind of makes sense. Good to know that's its not a defect, but a "feature".

Since I recently bought this car used, I am still learning about these "hidden" features :-). I am still playing with remote starter settings.
