Replacing my TLX V6 transmission

Took my car in for the 2-3 shift issue today to the dealer and I just got a call saying that they are replacing the transmission. I asked the advisor how the new transmissions are different and he said "revised parts and new programming". We shall see. Any one else have any observations on how the replaced transmissions are performing?

Good for you. I brought my car in yesterday to have tsb 38 and 40 applied. They didnt mention anything yet about replacing. Glad to hear more and more people getting tranny replacements. If tou dont mind, kindly post your service notes once available sonwe can use them to force our dealers to do the same fix. Thanks

How hard was your 2-3 shift. Does it tend to disappear with 15 min or so driving? Because my V6 TLX SHAWD also has a slight 2-3 shift delay but it disappears with 15 min driving. Dealer is 30 min away so I can't reproduce it I have to wait for the engine to cool down.

My new transmission is performing perfectly. I leave it in Normal now, as that mode is flawless.

A few have asked how the hesitation is now, and it is much less than before. Of course, you still are in a 9 speed tranny, so it is not immediate acceleration. Highway acceleration is better than slowing down, and then speeding up acceleration.

I have yet to use Sport Plus. Soon... soon. All in all, I love the new transmission. As I said.. Acura will continue to replace more and more of these.

On my original transmission, the 2-3 issue never went away. It actually got worse with every single update. It was to the point that the shift felt like somebody hitting the car.

When was your car's build date? When did you purchase it? Just curious..

How much fuss did you make? I had 8 visits to the dealership over 9 months. Had a lawsuit pending, and then dropped that. A week after the suit dropped, Acura decided to replace mine.

Does the intensity of hard shift seem to reduce with engine warming up?

On my original tranny, nope. It did not get any better or worse while it warmed up.

What was the build date of your car. My car is 9/15 and I find the shifts good, except there is a hesitation off the line occasionally, not sure if that is a torque converter slippage issue or what?
