Well...the S2000 needed more doors, more driven wheels, and a lot more torque...

Understandably. That'd be my #1 choice, both because it looks great & for the 60s GT350 homage.

Not any specific year but only the MY16 and MY17 are within my budget so that's where I'm looking. More so looking for the interior tech pack features. I'm ok with either seat option.
It would be mine too but they are more expensive and harder to find. I'm not going to spend a ton more money for a paint color when a cheaper one is still acceptable to me.

Does the gen 2 engine solve the oil consumption? I read they share more parts with the GT500, to cut costs between the 2.
I recall reading that Ford said it was normal for the Voodoo to consume nearly a qt per 1k miles, or something like that.

Yeah, the gen 2 solves the oil burning thing almost entirely. The big thing to look for/ask for is how much the motor burns. If oil consumption isn't a big deal when the car has 30k on the clock, it's not likely to ever be a problem. Also, getting catch cans installed (Ford Performance makes them) helps immensely by preventing oil from getting into the combustion area in the first place. On top of that, just routinely check the oil and make sure you're good to go will keep issues at bay.

And for a fun car, I'm sure that stuff you'd be checking more routinely anyway.
Hoping it works out for you

On another note, have a line on a MY19 M2 Comp 6MT (obvs) never tuned and has M Perf exhaust...but it has 64k miles on it. Price is similar to a MY16 GT350. Thoughts?

I personally probably would take the GT350, not a lot of things can beat the sound of a V8 at 8k RPM... But you can't go wrong with M2 either.
You will be sliding all over the places with either car. But that is what RWD is for.

Low mileage toy, GT350
Something you'll drive a lot more often, I'd maybe lean BMW

Owner vibe is huge. I reached out to guy with M2 so we'll see what happens. Mileage is ok as long as it's well maintained.

Whats up with RDX owners?

Yeah if the M2 PPI checks out I'd probably go with that. The Voodoo Coyote sounds fantastic...when they aren't drinking oil or eating timing chain assemblies.

I haven't heard anything about the timing chain issues though.
Guy with M2 never replied to my message so I guess that answers this question lol.
Anyway, black car is sold so the other one is now the primary.

I double checked the timing chain issue and it looks like it's 2020+.

I've really been trying to find cars that have already had the engine replaced with the Gen 2 version because of excess oil consumption. That said, I'm sure the problem is largely overblown anyway but can't be too safe.

...and the other one fell through (seller was kind of sketch and I bailed out) as well so the search continues. Looking at one local (ideal ruby red color MY17) tomorrow and another on Saturday (black MY17). Both are more expensive but may be worth it...

Pre-snout M3?
991 911 (might break the budget). 997 too old?

M3 is too...normal. It's a good daily driver but an exciting weekend car it is not.
I've heavily thought about a 911 but they are just too expensive for what you get. I'd be stretching my budget to even get a good 997.1 C2S with a 6MT in good condition and with service records.
I have a line on another GT350, in STL this time. Talking to the dealership today and a friend in the area is going to check it out in person for me.
