Well...the S2000 needed more doors, more driven wheels, and a lot more torque...

Dang! That thing looks awesome! If it's an all original car it's worth a shitload of money.

Yeah it looked pretty cool in person. It might be because it was next to the Lexus GX behemoth, but it looked pretty small, which is funny because I never thought of mustangs as small other than maybe fox body. But to me it showed how modern cars bulked.
I’m not sure if it was an original or not, but considering I saw it at the Belleair country club, it might be.
Anyways, I didn’t mean to steer this thread away from your rides, I just thought it was cool it was also a gt350 in the same color combo.

Phil's going to have to talk the owner into driving/shipping it to MN for that to happen.

A '66 GT350 is up there for grail Mustangs. Would 100% have one over an Eleanor/GT500

Years ago, I ran into an older couple at a Cars & Coffee here in AZ who were showing their '66 GT350. They'd owned it since it was brand new. It was incredible.

Another show. Made a friend. Saw a heritage GT350 as well, looked cool but chuckled at the $40k paint job.
Yes I know front plate sucks but the holes were already drilled in and the plate mounted by the previous owner.

Rivian issued an OTA update to improve ride quality over the weekend and I drove it for the first time this morning (was out of town on vacation). When I first saw that in the update notes I chuckled and said it would be an imperceptible difference...holy shit was I wrong. It rides SO MUCH better now, way less crashing over bumps, smoother and less jostling over uneven roads, quieter all around because less crashing. It's amazing what a software update can do these days.

Electronic suspension, pretty crazy they can't make adjustments to damping like that.

Coming up on one year with the Rivian and thought I'd give a quick review. This is the best daily driver money can buy, either the truck or the SUV, they are amazing. The fact that you can get a truck that will crack 11s quarter miles, 3s 0-60 times while being super comfortable with an amazing interior and tech while also being able to haul shit in the bed and tow 11k lbs...it's fantastic. No, they aren't going to light up a track or tow a house across the country but to be able to find one car/truck/SUV that can do everything so well...it's a hell of a product.
So far I've put on a little more than 12k miles and it has been amazing. Aside from the failed driveshaft very early in life, it has been absolutely flawless. The OTA updates have been regular and worthwhile (the phone key and key fob FINALLY WORKS) with tons of new features and abilities added over the past year. The interior has held up fantastic, no creaks/rattles/groans and not really any signs of wear even with carting a toddler and 70lb dog around and the sound system is one of the best I've heard in a car.
Things I would change? The tires are pretty noisy but this is probably because they are AT tires, not sure if there's an option to change but I'll cross that bridge when we get there. It also doesn't sound like a Voodoo V8 so there's that.
Cost to run the thing for a year?
So far this year I've driven 12345 (holy shit, just noticed, definitely did not plan it haha) miles and consumed just over 6k key low whats costing me $664.29 in electricity at $0.11/kWh that we pay. How you convert this into "fuel economy" relative to a gas car can be done in a few different ways...
1.) The wrong way: That $664.29 would buy me about 204 gallons of gas @ $3.25/gal. So 204 gallons of gas to travel 12345 miles = ~60.5mpg
2.) The right way: 1 gallon of gasoline is equal to 33.7kWh of electricity in terms of energy output. So 6039kWh = 179.2 gallons of gas consumed to travel 12345 miles = 68.9mpg
Either way, to get an 840hp luxury pickup truck with this level of ability to do things and still return 60-70mpg equivalent is astoundingly good.
Bottom line, tons of fun, tons of functionality, crazy fast, fun to drive, super efficient, can literally do it all. Would recommend. I tend to be the person who will change cars often and frequently but I definitely don't see this thing going anywhere anytime soon.

I'm glad you're enjoying it! These vehicles look really great - I'd love to have one.

Glad it's treating you well, and that you've got the Voodoo for the auditory satisfaction that the R1 can't do.
I'd be curious how it would do towing the rig I pulled down to our ranch. Definitely wouldn't be practical, as there's virtually no charging infrastructure on the route we took, and even less once you're down there.
Mostly curious if it'd do better than the 8-10mpg the Exploder was getting.

Glad it's been flawless.
For perspective, another vehicle that runs 11s and can haul stuff (not nearly as much though) is the X3M Competition. The average price of premium in Minny Soda is $3.62 (today) according to AAA. $664 would get you 183 gallons, which would take you ~4400 miles at an optimistic 24mpg. EV daily drivers FTW

That said, your range ends up being about half (double the consumption) but that's carrying a Humvee on the back. Your load probably wouldn't have made as much of a dent but who knows. It's not ideal to tow long distances but if there's good charging options, it's not a big deal.

It would 100000% do better than 8-10mpg lol. Rich Rebuilds just towed a Humvee for a long distance and got 0.92mi/kWh which is about 31mpg.
