The Subaru thread
Hahaha No way! I love WRX and STi A LOT, but I won't trade in my BRZ for it.
BUT really, under $30k-$35k range, this would be my car if I need a sports sedan. I'm not a fan of used cars, so this really is the best choice without a doubt.

3 weeks today since I picked up the WRX. 3K miles on the odometer. Average MPG according to fuelly is 28.9, car shows 31.5. Car is amazing so far, we haven't had much snow other than when I went up north but it's continuing to put a smile on my face every day.
Here are some awesome pictures next to a Subaru GL I saw today. 86 year old lady owns it, her son brought it in to get the engine seals done, new clutch put in and the wheels sandblasted and re-painted as she refuses to get a new Subaru. Car is in MINT condition with absolutely no rust.

Car's been to Michigan twice, I don't know how many times to Chicago and I was down in St. Louis this week. She doesn't get much of a break.
Once winter is done, the BMW comes out to play so the Chicago trips will be in the E30 with the top down.
Our 7 year old Prius only has 59k miles on it. My wife doesn't drive that much.
For me, it's all work miles. I use my car for personal use maybe a couple thousand miles a year. 5 max, the rest is reimbursed and pays for the car.
I want a turbo Subaru again.
Is yours a manual vas? My mechanic was telling me that the new 6 speed auto in the WRX is badass. Sounds pretty cool because I generally think of Subaru as having shit transmissions besides the STi 6MT.

That's what I thought. I kept asking him if he meant the CVT. He said no, it's a 6 speed auto that works like an 8 speed in eco mode. Well the CVT must be pretty damn good if he thought it was some sort of dual clutch auto. I will have to bust his balls for this one.
Just a personal opinion - also will be more desirable when I go to sell it. I test drove the 2015 Legacy 3.6 CVT and it felt like an auto trans, very much different from the 2014 Outback I put 2K miles on with the CVT.
CVT's have come a looong way!
Mine is a 6MT. However in my travels, I've learned that the CVT is pretty amazing. It's quicker than the manual and people are raving about it. From what I hear is it's an amazing driving experience and the paddle shifters are very responsive. I'm a strong believer that the WRX shouldn't come with 2 pedals though

I'm waiting for her to drive the 2015 Outback and she'll probably get into a Forester or an Outback next year.
With these gas prices, my Prius is dropping in price! Even at $18 to fill up

I love the Spec B.....so hard to find them unmolested though.
4200 miles on her already, finally got it washed. I am liking the car more and more every day....

Holding up great as a road warrior, 28.8 avg MPG over 3940 miles on my fuelly act. running regular gas. Highest boost so far is 18.9...still babying it to some extent. This will make a GREAT used car next summer/fall for someone

My sister has a 2013 Forester and I drove it for a weekend when we were in Boulder visiting. When I came back, I rented a 2014 Forester for a week and put 1800 miles on it. I averaged 31MPG, it drove great. Also, it's the first car my wife enjoyed driving since her Prius. She HATED the Outback, which is what I'd really like her to drive.

I'm not sure why my wife hated it so much, she just refused to drive it. The CVT was so strange in that car too. I will get a 15 one of these days to have her drive it, I think her issues will be taken care of with the updated model.
Same dilemma I'm having with my mother right now (replacing her 04 MDX soon). Wait on the Pilot, the 2016 will be a redesign. I like the new Highlander.
I want the outback pretty bad. A 2.5i Limited with Eyesight. 8.7" of ground clearance, 33mpg hwy and AWD - pretty awesome all around car. I'm going to be getting it sometime in 2015 unless they give us Legacy's as company cars.
What I would like to see is them come out with another specB or a very sporty version of the Legacy. A GT would be quite nice.
And I am only going to part with my specB because the writing is on the wall: I have to leave Europe between now and summer of 2017, and my JDM Subie will not be allowed in the US
