The Subaru thread
If I could go back to 2005 I would have ordered my car as a wagon instead of a sedan. The utility is just so much better.

They are. I also wished I had gotten the wagon.

Here's a link to a Spec B Wagon (yep, Japan only). Those bastards.

And after seeing the last 30 posts or so, the wrong people fucking with Matt in HIS thread, I would have shot them. But that's just me.

And as I see it, this essentially started with a (perhaps unwarranted) expression of opinion:
In any event, that opinion was followed up with this response (from a "senior moderator, no less):
So, really? "Civil" is what we're aiming for here? Because "civil" was missed by a mile.

Yeah...I don't have a dog in this fight, and have no particular love for "he who shall not be named", though I recognize there are worse out there. But I am compelled to call out hypocricy when I see it.
And as I see it, this essentially started with a (perhaps unwarranted) expression of opinion:
I hear that opinion all the time around these parts (Alberta), though generally about pick-up drivers, not Subarus. I myself tend to view Subaru drivers as generally very careful...at times, perhaps overly so. Except for the WRX crowd. In fact, I have my current TL only because the Subaru salesman mistakenly thought they had sold the Outback I was after on the lot.

Don't act like an asshole on the forum. Then, it's all fine.

They're so cheap to own nowadays, but I generally like staying alive.

Even your friggin story sounds scary, I can only imagine.
I've only driven a handful of high boost cars and they've left an impact in the form of a brown stain every single time.

He sold it to buy a 550. He still misses it and regrets selling it since he let it go for $8k. It had a good amount of miles on it, but he spent almost that much for bigger downpipe, turbo, tune, top end work.
His parents-in-law would drive it when they came to town so it was still very driveable, but if you put your foot down her throat, it'll rip your leg off and kick you in the ass with it.

I'm not proud of some of the things I said to the fellow whose stupid comment unfortunately started all of this nonsense. If I had known all of this was going to happen I would have just ignored it. With that, I'm done talking about it.
As long as we are being nostalgic Matt:

It's funny, my close friend's neighbor got a Legacy and I originally thought (in my 20's at the time) why the fk would he get that over the WRX? Over time though, every time I drove by it I'd appreciate it more and more and realized it was a much more of an adult fun looking car.
