Sold the rex about a month ago and I miss it. Daily driving my BMW E30 vert now
2016 WRX orders are now open. They all got the new Subaru infotainment system and the Premium and Limited models jumped to a 18" wheel.
I like the wheels. If I do it again, I'd probably go for a blue limited w/out navi. My biggest complains were stereo and non dimming mirror which the limited would take care of. Wish I didn't need an SUV.

I'm entertaining the idea of a WRX for my next car, specifically the 2015 model.
vas25tl - what made you get rid of the WRX? Any complaints or issues about 2015 that made you jump ship to 2016?
EDIT: Just saw you needed an SUV, disregard
I loved the car. Only complaints I had were radio (would be better in limited), non dimming mirror (would be dimming in limited), and bluetooth (bought an LG headset).
I had the car for 4 months, I put 14K miles on it. I averaged 28.6mpg on winter fuel and winter tires. I don't think there's a better car out there for the money. I just have a toddler, a house and I had 3 small cars. I need something bigger to use around the house and my new position doesn't require driving anymore so fuel economy isn't a concern anymore.
Only diff in the 16 are the wheels and the infotainment as far as I know. Buy it and enjoy the hell out of it. I've also NEVER seen cars hold resale like this so it's a good financial decision too.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Rex. I hear lots of complaints from navigation owners and that non navi is the way to go.
I had the base model so didn't have the navi. I wouldn't order it either way, I am so fed up with factory navi systems, I finally stopped buying cars with them and rely on a Garmin and my phone.
I'll most likely settle for a 2015 when it comes time to move them off the lots, I think I could get good pricing on a Premium
Thanks vas25tl!
There aren't many in inventory, most of them were orders and most of the 2015 orders stopped a while ago.

Can't wait to hear his whinings.
Is he getting a 2015? The new FA 2.0 engine in the 15 recommends premium, doesn't require it like the previous ones did. I ran regular the entire time I had mine, no knocks, no issues.
Your friend isn't going to be whining, he's going to be WEEEEE-ing after a Matrix!
I drove around the block a few times and had to tell him the burning smell after is normal.
Just a few observations:
- You really can't do much better at $26k.
- I am not sure if Si is in this segment but as far as driving and performance go, not in the same league.
- Throttle is very responsive but there is noticeable turbo lag. More than N20 or N55.
- Car feels very nimble for an AWD car, i am very surprised.
- Car feels light
- I laughed at his tiny backup camera screen (No Navi option). My phone has bigger screen
- Made me realize how much better and easier Japanese cars' clutch and shifter are. It is very easy to drive and get used to. I would say it is as easy to drive as Si as far as clutch goes.
- the dark grey 17" wheels look tiny with ridiculous amount of wheel gap.
- A lot less body roll than i expected. Suspension is pretty comfortable
- Interior is very plasticy and doors feel hollow but at $26k, you can't expect everything.
- since When does regular WRX have Quad Exhaust tips? It makes you wonder why bother buying the STi? Unlike before, now you get the same wide fender, 6mt, quad exhaust, roof diffuser and bumpers with 270hp.
- lastly, again you really can't do much better than this WRX at $26k.

If you like cars and have a budget under $35K, you should just got for this WRX Premium for $26k. Get yourself a nice lightweight wide set of wheels and sticky summer tires for $2K. Get a nice phone mount and use your phone as your navi with Google Maps.
Done. That would be my choice. You can't really beat that value in the market right now.

Well written.
The SI is often used as a comparison to the WRX because of the similar price point, but IMO it doesn't even come close. Maybe when they come out with a turbo.
I LOL'd about the tiny back up screen. But keep in mind, in 2004, the STI didn't even come with a radio. This car is meant for go go go, not for all the technology. The 16's will be better in this as the base gets the (I believe) 6.2" infotainment screen.

Pretty good advice. Honestly the Acura system in my car is better than the system in my mother's E class coupe and it still isn't even close to as good as google maps. If you have bluetooth google map directions come through your speaker system which is nice as well.
Im not a fan of the WRX interior, but if that isn't a priority as compared to AWD and the relative performance, its the way to go.
Back in a Subaru. Friday, I picked up a 2009 Tribeca 7 passenger with only 49k on the clock.
It's so nice to have an SUV again, went to a lake house yesterday and had 4 people and a bunch of shit in the car and the 3.6 H6 handled GREAT!
