Can't. I'd have to get a manufacturer's statement saying it is essentially the same car as the USDM version (and it's not).

If you look closely at Mattg's Subie then mine, his front bumper sticks out more: That is a USDM dead giveaway. Mine is not 5mph crash compliant, so new bumpers would be the start of it. There are other things like door reinforcements/glass/dash that would need some mods. Hell, I can't even sell it to a German, as it would have a 30% tariff on top of 19% VAT.

If you are interested in one, I say a 2008/2009 is what you want. Legacy GT, and a Spec B (5EAT or 5MT in a GT, 6MT in the spec B) if you can get one.

2004 for me. I remember going to the Chicago Auto Show that year and checking out the Subaru booth while drooling inside the STi I was sitting in.

Those were the days.

Yes sir...seems like you picked up the natural progression to that though, no? You seem to really enjoy driving that Ford.

I actually saw a GT wagon at the West Coast Subaru Show who had the vinyl plate, that's where I got the idea. I took a high res shot of my plate and brought it down to the local graphics place and they printed me off a couple for $20. It's the super high quality thick, mold-able stuff. I had never drilled holes in my bumper to install a plate, and after getting 2 no front plate tickets in 6 years I needed to do something. It was a great solution.

You would be stunned how cheap it is compared to Vancouver. And you would be right on the way up to the mountain.

Installed my new Yakima Megawarrior & old Fatcat 6. No hauling signs in the car anymore! Stoked.

I like the look of the 2015 Legacy. Was just surfing car reviews randomly and ran into it.

The 2.5i Limited comes with Blind Spot Detection / Rear Cross Traffic Alert, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane departure warning functions, steering responsive fog lights., nav, etc for around $30k and Truecar already has dealers offering a $2k discount in my area.

Since it's AWD and comes with all this stuff, it's not a bad deal for a person in my area with lots of snow.

I'm going to go test drive it when it's available shortly.

The 2.5i with a CVT and AWD sounds like the slowest, most boring car ever.

I'm not a CVT fan either, but I'm just curious as to whether Subaru got it right this time. The reviews seem to be positive about this particular CVT.

This time, no manual in any trim.

The 5th gen Legacy ('09-'14) is so ugly, I hope they redesigned it well.

Let us know what you think, Bob.

(PS I loved the 4th gen 2.5 GT Spec B. [manual!!!])

I didn't like it at first, but the new WRX has grown on me a lot. If I was in the market, I think it would be my first choice in that price range.

I don't like the small wheels, but everything else in person looked great. Fully optioned with a 6-speed comes out to be right over $30k. Do want.

I really like the new WRX. Didn't like it at first either. If I were in the market for a sedan, it would be my first choice. I've seen a lowered one with flush fitment (not hella), looked real good.

am I welcome in this thread?

I didn't really mind last gen's legacy. If I had to pick between 4th gen TL and that on just looks. Then I would pick the legacy. But only in a legacy GT.

All of the YT reviewers that have tested the car say that the CVT is leaps and bounds above their previous one. They say it is very smooth and quiet in operation.

BTW, I joined the Legacy club in April when I got a 2003 Legacy L Special Edition for $3K it is in excellent shape with 62K miles on it. The only problem is piston slap that will cost about $3K to fix

Oh it seems like it's super easy and safe to get some serious power out of the new WRX with stage 1.5 mods with AP tune. Huge performance for such a cheap $.

Like Turboback exhaust/intake/tune.

I believe like $1500. It usually give these new WRXs around 320whp/330wtq.

Amazing performance i would say.

Took a 2015 Legacy 3.6 out for a drive the other day and loved it. Great car - HUGE improvement over the previous body style and the CVT actually feels like a normal transmission.

I am seriously considering getting a 2015 Outback 2.5i limited with eyesight/nav to replace my Accord.

I really don't understand the 3.6 Subaru engine. Why not put the turbo 4 into the Outback? Why the 3.6? The gas mileage is significantly down over the Forester XT for example. And for what? Do people buy Subaru Outbacks for the horsepower?

It's like the Camry. Who buys a V6 Camry? For what purpose? If you want a 270hp car why on earth would it be a Camry? I feel the same way about the 3.6 Subaru motor.

Thanks. Me too, once it took off from the dealership, the decision was made. Absolutely love the car.

I drive 45-50k a year so we'll test her to the limits. Sourcing winter wheels/tires right away.
