What I would like to see is them come out with another specB or a very sporty version of the Legacy. A GT would be quite nice.
And I am only going to part with my specB because the writing is on the wall: I have to leave Europe between now and summer of 2017, and my JDM Subie will not be allowed in the US

You can always find a 2010-2012 GT 6MT but they're hard to come by unmolested. And to be honest with you, with the updates in the 2015 WRX I don't think you'd be missing much compared to the 2010 Legacy.

Honestly, I like the 2008/9 body style (same as my 2006). The 2010 through 14 was a bit big and sat quite high sir a "sport sedan". For me, an 08/09 in wagon form was a hit
Sat in a 2015 Legacy 2.5i Limited with Eyesight and Navi yesterday. I need to stay out of that car, I never realized how similarly priced it is fully loaded compared to my WRX.
I know but at 3500-4000 miles a month, I need that 36MPG. Who knows how long these gas prices will stick around.
Get a Passat TDI SEL. You can get 55mpg out of them if you drive them correctly. Plus if you do a lot of highway, you should be able to get mid or upper-40s easily.
Maybe a year old Passat SEL and then drive the piss out of it?

It's a 2.5 I drove a 2014 Forester for about 2K miles and a 2014 Outback for about 2K miles, both being the 2.5l. It's nothing exciting, but not a bad commuter. 3.6 is of course much, much better. The ride in the 3.6 Legacy reminded of my Lexus GS, it was very smooth.
Had my first maintenance done on the WRX yesterday. Went in at 5500 miles for an oil change and tire rotation. They found a nail in one of the tires so they took care of that too.
It'll be 2 months on the 26th, luckily I'm not driving too much the rest of the month so the miles will hopefully stop climbing so dang fast. Too many 20,30,40,150 car pile ups out there this week, going to try to take it easy this winter.

5500 miles after 6 weeks?!
It took me 13 months to get to 5K on the GTI and it's my daily driver.

I put miles on like they're going out of style. 4700 of those were for work. As time will go on I will drive it less and less on weekends.

When we bought my wife the Subaru, the first thing I said was "honey, even though this thing is AWD, it's not better on Ice, and snow is still snow."
AWD is definitely better in snow, and debatably better on ice, but you still can't drive like an idiot, you know?

Being that you don't hang onto your cars very long, I'd have no problem buying a VW. They aren't what they used to be, and if something did happen, you'd get rid of it before the warranty is up anyways
I love BRZ more and mainly because of these 2 things.
Front bumper looks way better from side, instead of aiming up and front end being straight vertical to ground.
FRS looks it bumped into something.
BRZ bumper sits better to road
Second is the headlight.
Well, instead of FRS, if we take GT86 that comes with LED (idk if FRS does or people swap it)
I like BRZ LEDs more, not because it's tube style, mainly because it sits outer side of the headlight.
At night, or dawn, it makes the front end look wider for the car up in front.
PLUS, the LED DRLs on the BRZ that's on top of the fogs sit way more outer than the parking LEDs, which gives like a triangle look + wider look.
I love it.
This little detail pulled my attention a lot.
GT86 LED sits inner side of the headlight, and makes the front end look smaller.
Stuff I noticed on the highway before I bought the BRZ.
BRZ just feels a lot more refined. It feels like Subaru took the BRZ a lot more seriously.
I'm biased, though. I love Subarus. I'm looking for an excuse to replace my TSX with one.
Go find a 2009 specB. With some more sound deadning in the doors and a tune, you'll have a 300 HP sedan that would also be fairly quiet... It'll just be 6 years old
I think that is the car Subaru could have made a real impact with. The Levorg would be awesome to have as well.
Been a crazy couple months. About 16 weeks with the 2015 wrx, and I will hit 13k miles tomorrow.
Averaging 31 mpg on the dash, 28.5 on fuelly across 12,905 miles. Still running regular gas and still on my winter set. I will probably be putting the summers on within the next couple weeks - about the same time I take the E30 vert out of the garage and start driving that more.
Taking a new position soon where I won't be driving as much so I will probably be getting an SUV (not worried about gas mileage and need something bigger) but this thing has been great!

Just got home from doing 1296 miles from Tuesday morning to this evening. Car already has almost 1500 miles on it.
Thoughts:
- I NEED to buy a dimming homelink mirror and an armrest extender.
- I finally hit 1K on Thursday morning and boy is it fun hitting 5500-6K RPM's.
- Car is a little loud and bumpy compared to what I'm used to but not too bad
- Gas mileage is PHENOMENAL - I am averaging 30.2 since picking it up, with 34.5 today on a 270 mile trip. I am thoroughly impressed.
- First fill up - I realized that this car runs on reg gas with premium being a recommendation. Talked to a Subaru tech, confirmed that it runs fine so I've been filling her up with reg gas - with the amount of driving I do, that's a considerable difference and was an exciting find.
- Holy moly is this car's boost fun.
I actually work setting up 43 Subaru dealerships in the midwest with service marketing programs, online appointment schedulers and some other software programs so I spend a lot of time in Subaru dealerships. This was my week to go up to Lake Superior, down the Western Michigan side, out to Flint, and back to Milwaukee.
I met a 60 year old man who is waiting to take delivery of his white STI and doesn't like the spoiler. He mentioned swapping trunks with mine...thinking about it
Hit some snow up north, car drove great. Amazing AWD system and amazing Michelin X-Ice 3's.

The computer lies, this was actually 34.5 calculated, vs. the 36.9 but still... over 165 miles, I kept it over 40, I couldn't believe it...but it wasn't easy
Need something bigger... I think I might go with something a little older since I won't be driving much anymore and focus a little more on my E30 this summer.
So, after the Subaru BRZ STi reveal today, the big question is....
...is this the future of Subaru design or is this model going to be dumbed down like the WRX was? There were rumors some time ago Subaru was going to move towards the WRX concept as a design language and this concept certainly echoes that sentiment. I guess we'll have to wait until the production model...if it ever comes
