Man the Mazdas are going to be dropped as fast as they were picked up.
I didn't know your background of not driving a manual for a long time. I had the complete opposite experience. I always had manuals until I bought my auto '03 CL-S and regretted not waiting for a 6mt to come along, especially after the tranny blew up at 70k miles. The period of time after I had the tranny replaced was the worst because it just ate at me that I settled for the automatic and was so unhappy with that car, so I do know how hard it is to deal with a car you either settled for or got tired of. It wears on you and can distract you from more important things.
I'm just surprised you're tired of a "fast" car. I mean I understand the auto/manual thing, or the fact the MS3 might be too tuner-ish (kind of why I'm glad I got the MS6 instead, a little more "grown up" being a mid-sized sedan) but to want to go to a slower car, IDK, I think you'll regret it, but that's just my opinion, you know yourself best of course.

I always thought that more buttoned up version of MS3 is GTI because it does feel and drive more maturely than MS3. Maybe get a GTI?
Because the more I think about this, you will regret of getting rid of a fast car... especially a turbocharged one.
I'm going to so laugh at you when you make a thread in the future saying.... I miss driving a fast car... you are in the early 20's man. haha
Anyway, it's your car, so if it doesn't make you happy, get something else!

If it's luxury that you want, have you considered getting the seats covered in leather? My boss has a regular 3 and he got the interior changed to leather when he bought it. It really did make a big differnce. Or is it the tech features that the TL-S has that you like?

Nice car! Looks great with those RX8 rims on!
Make a new thread man. I'll ask you some questions regarding your modding in your thread.

I dont think I can ever go back to Honda, I enjoy Torque, I know I had a V6 6 MT Accord but the 2.5L in the 3 the torque hits faster. Right around 2300-2400 it pulls strong.
I want a Mazda2 now, God is that a fun car for city driving. Talk about a go cart feel. The Mazda2 would be my 2nd car. Come on Lottery! Yes, I am that down and out to dream about a Mazda2.

On the other hand, this may be the best time to sell your car and buy a new one.
Anyway, other than the TL and TSX, you may want to look at the Mazda 6, Nissan Altima and Maxima, Infiniti G, Subaru Legacy, Ford Fusion and a few generations of EX Accords. A lot of people are liking Hyundais, as well.

Speaking of luxuriousness features...... I think my MS3 actually has more features than my previous 2005 TL.
Anyway, yes, the used car values are pretty crazy these days. However, I think you can still find good deals if you look at around for a long time.
He doesn't like the car because it feels too tuneable/boy-racer ish, so modifying his car will not change his mind. There's no way to add luxurious feeling to a car like Mazdaspeed3. It's as raw as it can be.
What's your budget?

2G Navi is one of the most POS systems on the market. It's completely useless.
And, dude, it happens all the time. People purchase cars and regret, so they change it again. There's nothing wrong with it.
If he said he wants a faster car, then I wouldn't tell him to get a new car because that's stupid. lol

It's useless because it's small LOL
It's way too small that you have to move forward to look at the damn directions on the map. Also, you can only control the navigation with the knob and some buttons on the steering wheel! WTF. It's completely useless.

i dont need two cars lol
It's not just the TL, the current used car market is absurd. My guess is that the market should regain some balance before too long, as more people elect to wait or just buy new.

-navi-dont really use it
-adjustable HIDS-nice feature
-rain sensing wipers-useless. they freak out in a sprinkle
-Bose-im sure its an improvement over the base audio, but it sucks in the Mazda
-road noise-i guess i expected that in an economy based car
<--left knee issues since i was a kid
