And you might have some residual value in the cracked one you're replacing. It might be "good enough" for someone else, or a project for a wheel guy to repair and flip.

So that $300 forged 19" OEM replacement wheel that would match just right with the minimum of effort and get you back to a set of the wheels you like and already have tires for and , might only be a $275 wheel. Or less!

I agree, when I was trying to decide between aftermarket wheels or powder coating the OEM's, my plan was to keep the OEM's if I went the aftermarket route. I knew I would regret getting rid of the OEM's one day..

Yeah, I don't want to lose the oem option regardless which would mean that I need to have it fixed or replaced. Now, given how hard it is to weld aluminum and repair a crack that big...I'm gonna say it might cost me almost as much to get another wheel as it would to fix this one.

you already suggested your solution... buy a replacement... have them all powdercoated bronze... then keep the cracked one and make it into a hose reel for the garage... that is what i am doing with a spare wheel...

also forgot to mention, did you join the CTS V classifieds group on fb? there are some guys that part out cars there you can snag a wheel from...

I know it Andrew but I don't wanna jump the gun because I've seen some killer deals on entire sets that need refinish...that would be optimal to me because then I could get them powdercoated without any down time, then have the new Conti's mounted on THOSE
and then I can have someone weld up the crack (or sell 3) and sell my entire set so there's minimal loss.

I was wondering how long it would take for you to see that!
Dude, why aren't you local...you could weld repair that wheel in like 5 minutes while jerking off and making your morning coffee!

that's actually a very sound plan... if you do end up selling the others, i'd buy the other front one and keep as a spare tire i don't think i could fit it in the well tho...

Thats what i would do. There are some quality wheel repair/refinishers out there that could fix yours up easy and quick. I hit a pot hole big enough to plow out a tire on a F150 (i know this because i saw it happen just as i hit it) with my RH C2s and bent the inner barrel. There is a guy local to me that does wheel repair. He had a set of wheels in there that he was working on one with a large crack, others with curb rash when i stopped to see if/when he could repair the wheel. After having the tire unmounted i dropped of the rim a few days later and saw the finished work on the wheels he was doing you could never tell. Both sides were finished flawlessly. Only took him 2 hours start to finish to straighten my wheel. No issues balancing or anything.

Rash looks like ass on the last wheel..
If shipping is on the low low.. might be worth it.
Need to get it cleaned up though.

he's going to have them PC anyway... so i see it as rash is better than a crack... i'd say $175 shipped... the wheel would turn out to only cost him $125...

If he is PCing them then even $200 shipped for that wheel that isn't cracked isn't bad. I bet he could sell his cracked wheel to a restoration place for at least 75-100.

Thanks Andrew!!!
I just PM'd him...
I found a guy with one in great condition in Fort Myers that agreed to $200 shipped...BUT
his is silver which means I'd have to get the set refinished immediately instead of being able to wait for the michelin to be done.

You know there are certain ways you can make those Michelins be done almost immediately right?
