What happened to going with a bronze color instead of silver. Look at silver, say no, then step out of your comfort zone a bit.

I'd go with triple bronze from prismatic powders. I think that's the color on my s2k wheels

I agree with the others... Go Bronze, similar to the ones I posted last week.. They would look great on your V...

we'll see...pc guy already said he'd be willing to do mine for $350...normally more for 19's.

I do want to step out of my comfort zone, but I value my wife's opinion too...
she personally doesn't like the bronze look at all...
I feel like I do, but I don't want to regret not getting something classy either...like, yay, looks nice for now but then in a month I'm like, okay, I don't like coca cola wheels.
We'll see...still need to get the missing wheel back and then figure out the color.

Saw this gem today...making me question losing polished altogether...
partial chrome delete...
upgraded badges, upgraded rotors, front lip, upgraded hx, side and rear lip...upgraded v badges including the wheels center caps...black lug nuts...
sexy as hell

my fear of going with a wicked cool and different color on a oem wheel is that it'll end up looking like i did some plastidip magic on it.
in which case...i might as well just do some plastidip wonder on it

I can definitely relate to this because I was feeling the same exact way prior to powder coating mine two months ago.. Seriously no BS.... I kept looking at my car with the polished wheels and telling myself I'm keeping it as is... Finally after several months I pulled the trigger and had them coated..

I'll be honest, they day I picked it up I still wasn't sure (I'll be you'll feel the same way) if I did the right thing. My three boys loved them immediately and so did my wife.. It took me several days for it to sink in and now when I look at pics of the car with the polished compared to the powder coating I don't know why I waited so long..

If you don't want to go bronze why not coat them in a gunmetal finish similar to the 18" OEM 4G TL (09-11) wheels.. IMO that color isn't too dark, but yet dark enough to give a little bit of contrast with the black...

Similar to these on my 4G

Fellas...the stars have aligned...
RIGHT after the silver wheel shipped to me.
I'll be relisting silver when it arrives...
the dude I'd been emailing with has a set of front polished wheels...he'll sell me just the rim with no tire for $200.
Fuckin has PSS on them but no TPMS...if it did, I'd be tempted to swap him my front(s) for his 2 and then have a matching set of PSS!

$200 and no rush to have to pick powder and be without my baby picker upper mobile for 3 days is a win...and I get to keep the polished look because I agree with Jason, I do love the look and it ties in all the other chrome on the car. JTMoney, for sure I will consider PC down the line...this just doesn't push me into doing that, and putting the new tires on preemptively (which i would do because if all 4 old michelin are dismounted, I'll throw the new conti on)...

okay Mr wishy washy strikes again...
Betty was like, wtf you lazy fuck, you already have the other wheel on the way, you KNOW you're gonna want to powdercoat the set at some point because of the damage...tell that guy you don't want it.

PS...Science...
I put extra PSI in the leaking tire yesterday after work, prior to that I was getting a 15psi loss per day for the last 3 days...well, after bumping up to about 39 psi yesterday so it would settle to normal driving psi this morning...
it hasn't leaked all day. So basically...the additional internal pressure forced the crack back together enough to hold for now. Yay.

https://cpprohomeky.car-part.com/ima...%20216511"=

Just an FYI. Here is a silver coupe, that's kind of difficult to look at, I found during an engine assembly search at Miami Parts Unlimited 2470 NW 151 St. Opa-locka, FL 33054; 800-644-4788.

It has three black wheels that look salvageable should anything fall through, if it is still there. The stock # is 216511, hopefully the link above works for you. If it does not, in the 'page not found window' go to the address bar and remove all of the Acurazine BS to get to the correct web address, it should work then.

Thanks, man...
the guy I was gonna buy the polished wheel from is a marine...cool dude and that's basically what he does, buys entire crashed cars and then parts out!
I think I SHOULD be good...dude that does PC said normally 19" is more but he'll do them for $350 and then another $60 for dismount and remounting...if they shake, I'll take to acura to balance after the fact.
I am kinda excited to have a perfect set!

I got the hookup
holler if you hear me

ungghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

I know it, Kam...shit, he only quoted me 60 extra to pop off the tires and re-mount and balance after.
He's a good guy...he has a tiny shop...works alone and does one wheel at a time.

I was thinking the same thing, $350 + $60 for mounting is a good price.. I paid $700 which included mounting and balancing, I checked out 3 places and all were $600 to $700... The company I used had the best reputation, and since someone I know used them I went with them.

This guy is a young Jamaican dude in a seedy part of town...but he was cool and also has a daughter so we bonded over that.
I'm sure I annoyed the fuck out of him with my attention to detail and questions, but he did a great job!

original set I bought back from a guy that I'd sold my original 17x9 square setup to. He sold them back to me with some new fronts for a stagger so we both ended up with a set.

was gonna have him grind off the letters...but ended up opting to paint over to keep the pc intact
went with silver in the end along with a yellow advan custom sticker to tie in the car

DSC_0380 by rock star, on Flickr
final result was MEGA GREY pc

Right now the front runner for the V wheels is:
SILVERSTONE (a throwback to a color I love on the S2000, especially once I saw it at Tyler CLtotheTL's house in person)
SILVERSTONE Powder Coat PMB-847 | Prismatic Powders

here are the other contenders...2nd best is Galaxy III, I think...and there are no examples of Spectacular
Prismatic Powders: Galaxy Grey III with Clear Vision Top Coat

GALAXY GREY II Powder Coat PMB-2853 | Prismatic Powders

SPECTACULAR GREY Powder Coat PMB-5624 | Prismatic Powders

Which is lighter Galaxy II or Spectacular grey? I'm guessing the Spectacular is lighter based on pics.. Go with the lighter of the two since you don't want them (if I remember one of your posts correctly) too dark.. It looks like both have some flake in them...
