Well, I won't act like there aren't any other nice wheels out there...
but really, they're usually either heavier, debatable if better looking, weaker, OR massively expensive...
a set of DW rear tires every 6 months seems more reasonable.

If I can find a shop to re-weld and powdercoat my wheels for ~$600 I might go that route...
or snatch up the next silver sedan set i find in good condition.

The reason I won't PVD is i don't like black wheels, especially on a black car.
For a photography guy you always have to work extra hard to show the contrast using lighting etc...even in that photo, you would think it's sitting on spares if the light wasn't coming off the street reflecting up on them.

Good for that brembo brake dust though.
PS...I had bought vatozone best ceramic lifetime pads...$115 to my door...
read too many horror stories about squeaks...ebelp John confirmed that he had squeak on his SRT after swapping to ceramic.
Decided to leave well enough alone...returned them. I'd rather have to clean the wheels more often than deal with squeaking.

Exactly... also in my experience the first coat should be applied very light, almost transparent and let it dry. The second coat the same and then build from there. IMO by doing it this way you get more even, and smoother coverage. I've seen some guys spray on the first coat real heavy trying to make it cover and this is a mistake..

I really like the PVD and almost did mine in that finish, but then decided on the Dark Gray Sparkle powder coating instead..In the end I'm glad I went with the gray because especially in the sun you can see the metallic..

Thank you..

The wheels were never curbed and were in great overall condition, as the wheel guy said. But had a few marks on them from when I had the tires replaced. I also had a few marks from a few tire repairs, those rears pick up everything!!. But regardless, I was planning to powder coat anyway.

Emblems were dipped recently, again to see if I would like them black. Since I do, I have to find "Black Chrome" V emblems because I think they would look real good. Will eventually get around to having the window trim wrapped too..

You don't like the polished wheels? I love them on your raven black with them matching all the chrome. I think they look better than the silver would.

I am probably going to do 3pc forged again cause I am crazy. With matte black centers, some off the wall color for the lips, and 24k gold bolts to go with the brakes.

They make silver metallic pd kits

I never thought plastic dip would look good. I love my window trim. It is about 10months old now and still looks as good as the day I did it. I think vinyl for the trim might look a tiny bit better if I had a shop wrap it but not sure it would hold up as well to any rocks that may hit it.

Majofo knows me...lmao.
Honestly, I am very annoyed at the fucking toe being off on driver rear. I'm very reticent to punch it now cause I know I need to undress it.
I'll get it figured out...also still trying to decide...return $500 rear magneride and buy bc racing coils with kw edc magneride liar tricker box...
or just accept that it's gonna be 500 a pair every time the front or rear decide to bust a leak.

Jason, I just wish the finish on them was perfect, that's the main thing...I had to dremel/sand some bad curbing on 3 of 4 wheels so in certain lighting you can see and overall the chrome looks kinda dingy probably from heated clear coat that's holding brake dust. I could polish them out but then I'd have to protect...almost easier to PC or find another set. I have definitely backed off of the idea of buying aftermarket wheels for the time being.

I need to shit or get off the pot with my loan too...
pay all this interest, or drop my monthly payment substantially!

Well, I was iffy about this one because I liked using the little door thingy to separate things. But, I kept dreading a jug of milk spilling or something smelly or dog hair.
This was rock fire fitment on point wtf thank goodness I ordered it, I love it.
It matches my mats...it's a perfect fit.

Oh and GM had rear battery panel coming detached from the clips so it wasn't tight and closed. So GM has easy cheap fixes...some camel cum (pronounced: epoxy) and some clamps overnight and I should be golden.

how exactly is the hyper silver finish achieved??is there just a straight up powder thats used? I was thinking about doing that to the advans.

I really dig the translucent colours now. like the copper and bronze ones

The Hyper silver comes in a spray can. Lay down 5 coats of black PD then topcoat that with the hyper silver. The more coats you apply the brighter it gets. Other wise yes, you can buy the pearls in 25 and 5 gram packs and add them to your clear pd and spray over a base

I have played with most of their Metalizer spray cans and many of those colors are nice. The Silver Metalizer and the Graphite Metalizer look nice on wheels. I currently have the Graphite Metalizer on my rims on the TL.

This was the Copper Metalizer and the Silver Metalizer if i remember correctly that i sprayed on one of my old C2 Lips.

or just accept that it's gonna be 500 a pair every time the front or rear decide to bust a leak.

Gotcha. Makes sense. For some reason I had thought you only had to repair one of them.
