For a tank like this with the legendary OM617 five-cylinder engine, that’s barely broken in. Knowing the history of this model, the wagon will top a million miles or more easily. If you figure the Mercedes-Benz has been driven roughly 51 miles a day for 42 years, as one commenter with quick math skills noted, it has seen regular commutes for a very long time or some incredible cross-country road trips. The current seller has owned it since 2006 and added 150,000 miles to the clock, averaging closer to 10,000 miles per year.
I have always wondered, do they only "seem" slow because the driver is not stepping on it? or are they actually fucking slow? cuz i feel bad every time i see one trying to merge onto the freeway. Talk about struggle.

Most definitely, absolutely slow.
My 240D is the slowest car I've ever driven. I think the 0-60 is closer to 20 seconds than 10. Could probably measure with a calendar
The 300SD was better, 0.6l more displacement & a turbo. Mine had a wastegate leak, so it made little-to-no boost. We didn't know this until we sold it.

That explains it... sometimes i see a lot of smoke coming out when they try to merge onto the freeway, so it seems that they were stepping on it but it just felt like they were going backwards
I do to like everything Hyundai and Kia are doing tho... just when it comes to my own $$... probably still several years away...
I still have yet to see any in a Genesis, Hyundai, or Kia...It's interesting. I don't know anyone (and 90% of my friends are ) owns a Korean car or desires to (i.e. talks/hope of owning one).
I know a few owns Kia and Hyundai. considering how many SUVs they sell, it is not the same as before.
But Genesis is a different story. I think only the GV80 is selling well, they need to bring the GV60 or 70 or whatever the smaller one is called and flood the market with it.
I would not be surprised that most of the Americans dont even know what Genesis is as of 5/13/2021.
Yeah, but everything else that comes with the E60
Not to say the contemporary Cuck/AMG wagons aren't all that much better from a maintenance standpoint. Something about the S/C V8 I imagine they've gotten pretty 'cheap' by now {not that the words Cheap + AMG ever go together).

Yah besides the V10 in the E60.... everything else is shit... the SMG, the exterior, the MPG, that iDrive in that gen is the worst shit ever. just shit...
I would imagine if you put that high reving V10 with F1 sound from the M5 into a proper built sports car, it would be good... ...Think LFA

Definitely something to be said for AWD though, huge difference in launch.
I don't care how much better a MBZ is vs. a BMW, I'd never own one. It's a level I would never want to demonstrate as I firmly believe I'm just a white collar guy with a deep blue collar background just wouldn't fit, feel or enjoy a MBZ
