And an older car that didn't sell apparently. This is what a Subaru wagon should look like. Kudos for the hard work to make it look like this:

2005 Subaru Legacy Wagon

Yep. Only in the US for the 2008/2209 MY. The one above has a 2007 front and rear bumper plus a lot of JDM parts. The bumbers in Japan were a lot shorter, hence the nice profile. Also the headlights were nicer. There was a slight blue tint in the cover, plus they had HIDs. Those years (US 08/09, JDM mid 06 through mid 09) were by far the best years, and I love that over there you could get the wagon with a 6MT.

I really miss that car. So when I go back to live there I'm getting a 3.0 Spec B again or a 2.0L Spec B wagon...... And a Datsun 1600

1970 Datsun 1600

My dad had a '67 1600. He bought it sight unseen & it was much rougher than expected. He got it running & moving under its own power & sold it. It was missing the top & most of the interior, but the body/drivetrain seemed pretty good.

The name itself is just awesome. Polestar.

Saw the V60 yesterday when I was out picking up some takeout...it's just gorgeous. It's really too bad Volvo reliability is in the bottom 4 though. They are just so beautiful though.

Caught a @rockstar143 spec V60 (in white) when I was leaving the office earlier this week. Still a good looking wagon, but not as much as the new one.

That is one clean R wagon. And it's lowered just enough. Very nice.

MotorTrend is no fan of the RS6 Avant.https://www.motortrend.com/cars/pors...n-test-review/

Key paragraph: "I don't want to write this next part; you don't want to read this next part. So, maybe just skip ahead to the end and you can pretend the Audi RS6 is 99 percent as good as the AMG and the Porsche, and just barely lost. But the Audi comes in a distant third in terms of driving dynamics. I'll let Walton deliver the opening bad news salvo."

Interesting.

Well, FWIW, while I think Motor Trend is good, I also see what the Euros say like my fave magazines (evo and CAR)...

Per evo, the RS6 is awesome: https://www.evo.co.uk/audi/rs6

CAR thinks it is perfect: https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-re...di/rs6-estate/

So, while it's good reference, a at Motor Trend.

IDK, comments talking about bad tactile feel, unpredictable lousy brakes and nose-heavy steering in to corners (in this segment) are not admirable qualities. It really makes me believe this car is a pure poseur.

Yeah, hard to say for sure...I mean, neither the other 2 reviews that I referenced say anything like that and you know evo & CAR are notoriously "snobby"...

I think ultimately, you gotta drive it and find out.

Agree. So R&T and Car and Driver need to give me the keys so I can test it out. The only fair thing to do.

To me, a wagon is a sleeper vehicle flying under the radar. When it gets festooned with big wheels, lowered and aggressive stance, and an aero kit, all stealthiness goes out the window. My 530 was plenty fast and competent and didn't look particularly fast and was completely functional as a great alternative to an SUV. The RS6 is too much for me, the MBZ a little less over the top and acceptable for me.

I think the RS6 was always going to be over-the-top since there are other other non-RS wagon trims in the Audi lineup. It's deliberate and yeah, caters to a specific customer in mind. If understatement is a parameter, I think the E63 AMG would then be a very good alternate.

^^^ MBZ E63 would be a good alternate if it wasn't an MBZ. I'll never be an owner of one, just isn't me.

Righto. Then, for a shooting brake or wagon...you only have the Porsche Sport Turismo.

You guys can fight over the RS6 & Panamera ST. I'll happily cruise off in the leftover AMG.
