If I ever came into a situation where I can drop $130K into a car, the RS6 would for sure be in my consideration just because of its audacity...that much power in basically a grocery-getter and because, well, I can.
That being said, Porsche 911? BMW M6 Gran Coupe...? Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo...? Mercedes-Benz AMG-GT? Heck, RLX with upgraded wheels?
I'd have to do my homework and really research and etc.
There is no more M6 GC..
$130k is not going to get you a comparable Panamara.. yes they are that expensive
if i had $130k for a car.. i would get a 80k and a 50k car..
unless of course, i am a multi millionaires... then the $130k car all of a sudden is just a $20k car to me... i would get 3 of them
I think I just have a mental block seeing a wagon being babied/treated as extra-special. A wagon's purpose is the added utility and increased ability to do the dirty work. Buying one says "the sedan had insufficient room for all the stuff I carry". And that still makes sense when you add a big engine and wide bodywork to a wagon. I think it breaks down a bit when it becomes the high-demand, limited-run, "don't scuff it the wagons are rare" option to buy.
Just my . Like civic said, maybe something a step or two cheaper wouldn't be regarded as special, and I'd feel less guilty using it as a wagon. Or maybe I'm just a pleb.

On the other hand....a car like the RS6 Avant can basically be your all-in-one car. If you could only save up and get 1 car to do it all: grocery/lumber/kids hauler? Done. Super sporty handling and insanely fast for when you're not hauling kiddos/or pallets of TP? Done. Great styling without it being a SUV abomination? Done. Commuter daily to/fro work? Done.
Could also be for say a single-partner working home with a limited parking space...where you really have to decide on 1 car that can do it all?
Found this gem locally. Very tempting but no warranty makes me too nervous haha
Asking 27K but I'm sure he can go down.
2014 BMW 328i XDrive M Sport
40K miles
H&R Springs
KG Splitters set (not pictured)
MSport Rear Diffuser
Muffler Delete
This guy want's $27k for a 6 year old not special automatic 4 cylinder BMW with 40k miles and a few mods on it?
I'd like to offer whoever buys this some beachfront property in Arizona.

Exactly. And a lot cheaper.

I had the exact same thought lol. Though at that price point the "because you can" mentality comes into play. Hell people pay a lot of money to have colored Porsche crests on their wheel's centercaps.
Anyway, I optioned mine to $116k the way I'd have it. Nardo gray, exec package, the assist package, sport exhaust and the carbon trim. The rest of it is just fluff and I like the free wheels more than the black optic wheels.

Why not both though? You're already paying all that money to homologate a car for the US market so why not bring the other versions of the same damn thing that you already sell everywhere else in the world to that market along with it?

It's an Audi. You don't have to wait that long. Even the S3 depreciates a lot faster than the Golf R and they are the same damn car.
I think it's the out right "Fuck off, I'm driving a wagon that is faster than most anything on the planet" that this car exudes. And nothing says this more than a "package" for over $8K just to add some color to the interior. And yes, I like it.

That was what i initially thought too.. I looked up the prices on RS7... to have an idea how the RS6 might look like..
Surprisingly, a decent 5-6 years old RS7 is still about 50% of MSRP.. i guess the rarity does play a part of it...and Audi's shitty leasing program = less used RS6... if we compare it to M5 or E63
So i think RS6 will its value pretty well, especially in the wagon form...relatively speaking..

speaking of wagons...ctsv is down to 1 page on cargurus and nothing less than 50K.
Fuck me, I could have kept and driven that thing for another few years and probably
not have cost me anything, maybe even made me some cash.

Well, mebbe if you didn't change cars like Taco changes manpons........
I've had a sport wagon, they're great and now I have a CX-9, great in a different way. If I had $130K to drop on a car, this would be it. I'm looking at buying one within the next 3 years
Your perspective in cars... actually in everything changes when you could afford a $130k like a $20k car...
Yeah no kidding.....so 130/20 = 6.5 times more
So taking a very rough idea....if most ppl can afford 20k cars...and median HH income is like about 50-60k.....using the 6.5 times multipler...that means annual income be in the 364k - 390k+ range to be able to afford a 130k car like a 20k car?

Sounds about right. The average income of E class wagon owners is $375k.
Picking up the V60 T8 Polestar that I ordered way back in January (thanks COVID). With any luck it will be sitting on my driveway in a few hours. Wagon Wednesday indeed.

How dare you not post pictures!
Excited to see them and welcome to the wagon club!
