Love the looks, but that interior is quintessentially '90s ... in a bad way ....

^ Understand he did not like the car, but really it was opinion, as opposed to performance indications. Rather listen to other people review cars :two cents:

I think his self-designated niche is more of a cultural critic than an automotive journalist. He usually doesn’t review new cars.

Not for everyone, and not to be taken that seriously a la Clarkson, DeMuro, et al.
I had a previous gen Insignia wagon rental, and while it had the bones of decent car, it was about as bland as ever. Maybe I hyped myself up too much, because the only Insignia I knew of was the OPC.
Going on a tangent like I usually do, but he has a really good point about GM sabotaging their "niche" models, especially the foreign ones. Felt that it was criminal that the GTO, G8, and Chevy SS were killed off with a whimper. Our market is more to blame I think, because almost nobody buys a manual, RWD V8 sports sedan in the US. On paper, that just sounds awesome. I would have loved one, just couldn't afford it back then.

A much better version of the Buick. The Opel Insignia Grand Tourer GSi.

Why would you do this to any car, let alone a Toyota that can not go fast. Oh, and I thought I had seen it all when it came to . The rear "spoiler" is, um, exotic?

A bit too low for me, or the airmatic has settled & it'll rise a bit once started?
Always thought the W211 was an attractive car.

Yeah, I noticed the low ride height, too, and presume it had something to do with the airmatic system ... perhaps lowered for the photos?
Here's the last photo posted for the auction ad, which looks like a slightly higher (or "normal") ride height:

Yeah, probably sat long enough for the system to lower.
I'd want the slightly earlier S/C 5.5 V8

Man, that era of Benz wagon is more beautiful than I've ever given them credit for.

It is impossible.I rely on visual cues more than anything. Bigger rear overhang and quarter windows, more upright hatch, etc.

Yeah, so like your Ford Focus hatch. Is it a wagon? The A3/S3/RS3 are a bit more squared off where it could be a wagon or called a hatch. Maybe a mini-wagon. Definitely a 5 door. But I would not call a 4 door VW Golf a wagon. If it's a GTI, well then
