The Official Wagon/Avant Discussion Thread
#2321
I sort of get the whole wagon/avant intrigue. In the past had my eye on an E320 Wagon, an All-Road and more recently CTS 3.6 Wagon but never pulled the trigger because A.I couldn’t get my wife to buy-in B.Don’t want to deal with the time + $ of constant maintenance and repair. I mean there is a reason after 5+ years these former $60k luxury wagons depreciate so much that they are the same price as same year Camrys. I would like to think that, being on an Acurazine I understand that we are car enthusiasts and you guys have some sense of rationality for reliability and space with the wagon but isn’t a German wagon some weird practicality oxymoron?
PS- I picked up an MDX for the wife instead which has been great. Also, for my next DD I am fiending for a VW MK7 GTI 4-door 6MT PP. And here is an obligatory wagon shot from local CL. 2004 V6 113k miles $4.5k clean but Auto =(

To add to the Mazda6 Wagon that we can't have in the US, the Mondeo (Fusion) ST-Line

Damn that is actually a really good looking wagon. I think it actually looks better than the sedan.

I'd rock it, if available here, with an appropriate (Focus ST or RS) engine.

Wow would't that be an awesome wagon with the RS engine and AWD. It could be a competitor to Audi wagons.

I was really hoping an R design version would happen. That looks great. Now I just hope it makes production and doesn't cost $100k so it could never be affordable.

The MB looks best in AMG trim. Leave the offroad wagons to Audi.

C450 AMG Estate
May be a 'baby AMG' but I'd rock it!
Sadly, we haven't had a C-Estate in the US since the W202 (2nd gen C-Class)

That doesn't look bad but I think looks wise I would still take the Allroad over it and just lower it.

I actually like the Allroad treatment on the E-Estate. I posted it over in the E-Class thread.
I'd be happy with a regular E-Estate as well.

I like the way the E Wagon looks, but as I've said before, I'm just not a MBZ kinda guy. That brand is a bit much for me.

We all have our brand of German poison. Wagons = MBZ for me.
