I've always wanted one. Everyone I know that has one has raved about it, and I would love to experience the same. I tried again this fall to enter one, and again had the same problem. I've actually had to have the driver's seat frame of my Accord removed, modified, and rebuilt to allow me to sit in it. And my head still hits the roof.

try aftermarket seat rails to lower seat height?

and anyone know if components with 2.75" depth mount fits w/o modification? my current speaker blew and it's 2.5" deep. fits fine with no modifications other than cutting the speaker basket.

As much as I want to get a s2k, it's pretty tight for me too.

Have you tried sat in a Miata? It has some more room inside.

just installed an old set of Polk db650 6.5" coaxial speakers in my 05 and they just BARELY fit into the stock speaker basket - the back of the magnet was touching the bottom of the basket. Top mount depth for the db650 is listed at 2" ...

Of course, if you cut out the basket most anything should fit.

i already cut the basket. i'm more worried about the back of the magnet on a 2.75" speaker hitting the door/window now

I've read 2.68" somewhere with the stock .75" basket/spacer thing but haven't measured it myself. I actually thought about measuring it for future reference yesterday, but was too lazy to get the tape measure.

so i guess i can only fit 2.68" deep speakers with the OEM basket. i'll have to look into speaker rings, then.

It's not impossible, but I know what you mean about the legs against the steering wheel. I'm 6'3 and any taller and it would be real tough. Though there is a guy on s2ki who is 6'8 and somehow manages to fit.

The seat is pretty close to the ground as it is, though the only low seat rail you can get is $350 (look up backyard special rail). Other rails require aftermarket seats. Lowers it 1" or so I think. I may pick it up eventually, when I get some other things I want first. You can also cut some foam out of the bottom of the seat to make it much lower. I think both of these combined will get you around 2.5" more head room.

Miata has a lot more room inside, surprisingly. Unfortunately, the rest of the car is just nothing like the s2k.

Another vote for the Continental DW tires. They were really great and quieter than the DWS. They did fine in the rain and cold temps. I drove them on the S2000 in temps as low as 35 degrees and had no problems.

I had DWS on my TSX and didn't like the soft sidewall. Turn-in was weak and I didn't feel confident but they gripped pretty well and are great in bad weather

So I'm about to purchase one. 3 negatives about the car. Way to low for daily driving, Wear on the soft top in the usual spot behind passenger - it's like it wore through the first layer. And a front bumper tab is broken. So the bumper doesn't line up 100% where the fender meets.

Any of you guys do a compression test before buying?

05 with 83kms GPW with black/red interior.

I looked at a white '06 yesterday in San Jose, the owner claimed it was in immaculate shape.. not so much. Plus it had front end damage.

I just wanted to add my 2cents after driving the S2k extensively for the first time. I won't mention anything about exterior or interior styling but more of a general comment with other cars I've driven. I know it's cliché and expected but my goodness this thing handles well. We were on the backroads in Great Falls, VA and I was able to hold enough speed in the corner to get a good feel for it; absolutely flat and virtually no drama.

Another surprise was the steering feedback; it is a LOT better than I expecte it to be; better than the other much more expensive cars I've driven, very good tactile feeling in my opinion with a steering just wide enough for a good grip on spirited drives. The car I drove had an aftermarket clutch/shift knob so I can't comment on the stock ones but the clutch action was very direct and caught low enough for daily driving. The pedals were also placed closely enough for heel and toe action.

I can definitely appreciate " the hype" behind these things finally. If you're looking for one, keep on looking because it is definitely worth it . It is definitely a no questions asked- driver's car that just nails driving basics to a T.

Doooo eeeeet! I still love mine after four years. I drove it for two weeks every day, rain or shine, in March because of the unseasonal warm weather. The steering response is certainly not bad for electronic steering. With the stock clutch, the catch point is very high in the clutch travel. It's unusual at first, but after four years I'm just used to it.

For Ken, I'm sorry to read of your experience in San Jose. "immaculate" condition usually doesn't include front end damage.

^ I can only imagine. Between it and the V, you have the best of both worlds.

I've been told to slow down my roll. I cannot purchase another car for a while. Maybe down the road when I have/create more room, a GPW or Laguna Seca Blue would be tasteful.

I still really want an S2000. It was a car high up on my list back when I got my Camaro and still is when it comes time for a replacement. The only things holding me back were price and not having a garage space. I like the hardtop but it so happens the S2000 is one of the very few roadsters that I actually like so the top would be down as often as possible. Theft isn't rampant at all in my area but I'd rather not take my chances.

Yep. One of the few (only?) Honda EPS systems that dont feel like the steering wheel is connected to the rack with wet noodles.

The newer TSX's are better but still not there.

The CR-Z in sport mode is almost there.

The S2000 AND NSX both had EPS done right

Ive not [yet] driven an NSX, so I couldnt comment on it.

The S2k though, unless you were told it had EPS, you probably would never know.
