It's fully built. Brakes, suspension, chassis bracing, supercharged, full exhaust, tuning, upsized cooling, you name it. Literally nothing has been left untouched. And save for the wheels, you'd think it was stock.
I have a Cosworth supercharger on the 2.0L. I wanted to drop in the 2.5L this year and get it retuned, but Wifey said not until next year now, due to a bunch of crap coming up

EDIT: Instead of getting wheels, at LEAST get some summer tires. Ahem, RS3 v2s, Pilot SuperSports, etc.

I like keeping OEM wheels (If they're decent looking, that is). But I also like slapping great tires on them. Then bishes be like "pff, look at dis stock car", while they ride my rear bumper... until the first corner comes up and I'm gone.
Superchargers are pretty resilient little devices. Easy to maintain and only require an oil change like every 50k miles. If anything, I'd source a used one to save a few grand. It's not overly difficult to find one with like 10k miles on it. I'd get new belts, etc, but the SC itself you might as well save on.

So, I got the Stage 2 SoS kit for ~$8k IIRC during the group buy which did knock off like $1k from the price.
Tuning was $400
And you could have called it done after that. I've done some other stuff like a bracket for my AEM EMS, other pulleys, bigger injectors, etc

I have summer tires already, I run Potenza RE760 tires. I don't drive it year round and put it away as soon as the avg temp goes below 40F so there's no reason to not have summer tires.
Which reminds me I need to order new front tires as the ones on the car now are original from the factory.

Work I'd do myself, not a daily I can have it off the road for weeks without an issue. Does the kit not include everything needed to boost the car? With how old and popular this mod is, I'd be surprised if it still cost that much to complete this.
I can't justify $10k to mod the S either, I'd rather dump that into a FoRS that I can drive year round...but half that might be a decent sell to my accountant.
If you're ~350whp you really don't need much except maybe a clutch. I was at 95k miles when I did mine so I swapped in an AP1 flywheel and a SoS Sport Clutch before I even did the supercharger.
Admittedly I don't know how that plays into the 06+ returnless system, just speaking for the 00-05

Admittedly it's not complete, but probably another ~$1500 or so and you'd be golden.
To be honest, I wouldn't go as high in HP as he did. I think 325-350 is pretty much perfect for the S2000 as going higher makes the chassis a little more interesting at speed as in, it's almost too much power for the chassis as it sits. I think the stock chassis, suspension, brakes, etc would be able to handle a ~100hp boost but going higher than that will bring lots of other issues into play.
My clutch only has 42k on it...should be ok but would replace if needed in the future. Again, not a daily driver.

$8k-$10k on what specifically? My research has put me in the $5k-$6k range for the kit including a (off the shelf) tune.

Once you start bagging on the car and launching it and stuff, that's when I'd replace the clutch. It's just not my driving style though. I like to corner like a motherfucker, but being first to the next set of lights isn't really my thing, lol.
So buy a $500 beater. Put $250 into it so that you can drive it (more...safely). Take s2k out of commission (install SC, etc). Sell beater 3 months later for $1000. Attempt to pry the shit eating grin off your face as you hoon away.

I'm content with the power I have now, money could be better spent doing a bushing overhaul, maintenance and fixing some cosmetic issues.

I'm using the Kraftwerks Kit. I bought mine through a group buy also with an 85mm pulley (more boost) and the larger c38-91 blower (more power). The kit normally comes with 90mm pulley (stock ap2 size) and c38-81 blower. This kit out of the box came with EVERYTHING needed to boost the car. 4 bar map sensor, inter cooler, injectors, pulleys, fuel pump, bypass valve, AEM V2 engine management etc. Also with the standard kit, 90mm pulley and 81 blower, you WILL be in the 400HP + range. My kit with upgrades and GB pricing was $5,100. Ok not bad right? Well if you don't do the install yourself add $800-1,000. Then you need an upgraded clutch. Your stock one will not handle this power for very long. So I bought the AEM Streelite Flywheel, oem clutch disc, pilot and release bearings. So that was probably another $500-600 there. Then unless you can install the clutch yourself add around $800. I also did a BOV setup with mine to prevent any compressor surge by using the bypass valve, so $250 for that, plus welding the charge pipe coming from IC. That was included in my install price though. I also bought the AEM data stream gauge (19 gauges in one). I think that was like $200. Then installing that cost money. Then you need tuning. There is no off the shelf tune that comes with this. A tuner will need to send you an E-tune or hopefully the shop you use has a tuner there. My shop was close friends with my tuner so he came there to put a base map in it so I could drive it to the dyno. My tune cost me $550 because he also had to setup the gauge readings to work with the engine management.
So as you guys can see it is quite the expense to go boosted unless you can do basically everything yourself. The 5k for the kit itself isn't really that bad you think to yourself, but you are going to spend another 5k or more upgrading parts, paying for installs and paying for tuning. It will help if your clutch has already been done at some point well before boosting because that's one less expense up front, but I had to do everything all at one time so things added up quickly.

I have off the shelf SoS Stage 2 (1200 blower) and am sitting at 350/220 at wheels. It's an AEM EMS2 so I did have to get it professionally tuned.
I *could* have bought the kit from SoS with ID1000's and a 3.2" pulley (I should have honestly) and you'll easily be in the 400whp range. Right around Chip's power levels.
No meth needed.
My new setup should be (hopefully) ~450whp/260tq based on some other users I've seen.
Things that have added to the cost. I broke one belt already, so $144 to have a new one installed. I also had to buy a new fuel pump and wiring kit for it because the grams fuel pump sucked and kept getting hot causing my fuse to blow in the kick panel. So the new pump, wiring kit, and install probably ran about $350 total. I'm trying to think if there were any other things, but those 2 were off the top of my head.
Nah, I had a shop do it. It looked simple enough in theory, but Kraftwerks has outdated directions that shows the bracket from their old kit, so I left it to the professionals. I also did the BOV route so I had to have the charge pipe cut and BOV welded to that. Also my instake had to be custom made because he did the BOV first and the intake the kit came with, the filter wouldn't fit because it landed right where the BOV was mounted.
The deal I made with the wife is that if we (I) cut back enough to pay off her student loans this year, we can get the FoRS next year when prices go down.
Now to hope that she honors that agreement...
