Nice! The stock one in the S2000 is looking a little tired, I was hoping to upgrade to this one soon but the price was a bit too high for me to stomach. Going to try and look into refinishing the knob I have now.

Anyway, did a FULL (wash, clay, polish, seal) detail on the car today. Was going to take it out for some beauty shots...but then it started pouring.

Maybe tomorrow.

I get some enjoyment out of polishing and I don't want the commitment of teh opticoat. Bust out the DA and shine her up!

Also, I love nice knobs...

It is easy to apply. But...if you apply it and two weeks later notice a defect that you missed and want to repolish...well you're screwed. With a standard sealant, you can strip off the sealant in that and refinish as you please.

That's good stuff.

I use blackfire wet diamond...or used to for that matter. I discovered yesterday that it doesn't work all that well on silver colored cars...or at least doesn't bring the same wow factor as it did on my orient blue BMW. I think I'm going to try CG Whitelight for the S. I'll keep the BFWD for the Jeep since it's metallic black.

We recently moved, and moved my daughter to a preschool that is, literally, at the end of our block. So now every day she begs me to drop her off and pick her up in "red car" instead of my TSX. Who am I to argue??

Had to bring the dog on this trip, too.

Now that my car can finally (barely) make it in & out of the garage, I installed my new TPS sensor because my car has developed some strange throttle behavior between 1500-3000rpm. Issue was exacerbated when it was hot and the AC was on.

Throttle Position Sensor Jacked? - S2KI Honda S2000 Forums

Honda does not sell the TPS sensor separately, you have to shell out $500 for a new throttle body .. so I purchased a replacement here:

45 minutes & a Dremel saved me over $400.

Throttle response is sharper and I haven't experienced any throttle issues yet, hopefully it'll do fine in the 4pm parking lot on Monday afternoon.

GF's dad's old civic was the same, they had to cut the rivets off and some guy on eBay had to sell the TPS sensor separately.

Damn it, car was sputtering again on the way to work

Throttle does feel more responsive (when it works), so I suppose it wasn't all bad.

So now, 3 things left to check:

1) Spark plugs & coilpacks

2) MAP sensor (MAP whack procedure) or replace.

3) Clean IACV - Idle Air Control Valve.

Funny thing is, this is literally the first real "issue" I've had in the last 36,000 miles of ownership. I roll over 150k tomorrow.

Dad's Camry has some sputtering/hesitation so i threw a can of this in the gas tank:

I threw a can of that in the S2000 on Saturday and one in the TL today...instant better MPG!

While I'm happy with the UK modded exhaust...my curiosity and desire for an aftermarket exhaust is growing. Milltek has my interest after Chip pointed me toward that a few months back. Doing research but there's not a lot in existence about it...it's the bomb sounding and great looking though...

sometimes we can be so full of shit...I just closed my eyes to listen to the milltek video and then one of my videos of the uk modded with the high flow and I couldn't really obviously discern the two...not saying it doesn't sound slightly better...but at $1300 and as we know, little performance gains and almost oem looks...

yeah...I'll stand down, for now.

I got super lucky, Sam...my boss and close friend is a whiz with a plasma cutter and welder so he hooked it up. Cost me $10 and a can of the exhaust ceramic black paint to cover all the exposed metal.

from what I've seen though...$100-200 is what you should expect to have it done.

So, I cleaned the IACV out with carb cleaner and cleared out quite a bit of carbon build up with Q-tips, made sure all 3 chambers were clean & reset ECU ... seems thought the idle has improved, although I still get slight burps of hesitation at low RPMs.

For shits and giggles, I bought new sparkplugs and I'll replace them this weekend

^ GM Synchromesh FM fluid.

I've heard OEM Honda stuff works OK, I just happened to have 3 quarts laying around from my CL-S. Never had an issue with it.

+1 for GM fluid. I tried Honda MTF and drained it in less than 5 miles. It has been said that the GM breaks down after a few thousand miles but I drive around 5-6k a year and change fluids annually so no big deal. Try Amsoil if you want longevity.

It's what the GM stuff was rebranded to...you'll have a helluva time finding it under the GM name now.

I too did the Honda MTF and felt like the car got notchy within a short period...switched to AC D and have loved it ever since.

Sam, sounds good, man...awesome.

Tyler...noticing it in all different temperatures outside? Plugs for spark, clean air filter for air...then some fuel treatment for gas...

Eff you J They're all so beautiful!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions for transmission fluids! J, as you predicted, gear changes feel notchy since the recent weather change. The fluid was changed with the OEM stuff when the car had it's heart transplant and it seems like it has broken down pretty quickly. During the first two weeks, shifts were like cutting through warm butter, and now they're not smooth at all. I can only blame the driver so much....

Shoot...I'm on that path too, maybe less...10 miles to work and back...50 a week, 200 a month 2400 a year...

divided by 2 cars...

I don't like going anywhere and when we do on the weekends, it's usually in Betty's...

So, damn...I'm gonna have some seriously low mileage vehicles in 20 years from now!

No problem, T...and thank you I do love my S2000's...both for different reasons...actually, seeing the pictures made me kinda miss the Advan. I literally sold them one week before buying the new S2000
Not gonna lie though, the Konig fit the car's dimensions PERFECTLY without the need for spacers or anything.

About the Tranny...you can do that swap yourself, or for cheap at work...just get your 2 bottles from amazon and get it done, man. I promise you, the car was notch free...I swap to Honda MTF, fkng notchy within a week...GMFSM (AC D) fkng PERFECT since I swapped it.

It's amazing the difference GM fluid makes, I've mine in for 28,000 miles and it's still pretty good.

Thanks for the link J, I'll surely add that & purchase new differential fluid while I'm at it

Shortly after posting this, I removed the IACV for a second time and saw that I missed some carbon build up in the middle chamber (the valve rotates). Once I made sure it was squeaky clean, I also sprayed more carb cleaner down into the MAP sensor pathway & into the sensor itself.

The drive this morning was great, no burps & hesitation issue(s)

So stoked.

Anybody getting near 100,000 miles should look into this, it was amazing how dirty the throttlebody & sensors get.

Hey, thanks Tyler...you know, the silver S2000 had fkng MADDD hesitation when it was hot out, I mean, I understand heat soak but literally no throttle response for like 2 full seconds while sitting at a light...

I am at 130K now so I'll take a look.
