You just said you don't want the mods.
And the hardtop is retarded. The visibility in my Miata with the hardtop up is brutal. At least mine is retractable. There's no way you'd be pulling off and putting on that hard top on the regular. Most guys end up selling theirs off anyway.
60k miles, very minor mods and all stock parts included to get it back to stock. What more can you ask for. That's his asking price. Haggle with him and you're paying 12.5k USD for that. And you're still complaining.
Getthafuckouttahere.
You want a garage queen for 17k? Keep dreaming.

I can assure you, it is extremely rare to find an s2000 driven in the winter here. If there is one being winter driven, it's because it has super high miles or has been crashed previously and the owner doesn't care anymore.

FWIW, I bought my clean title 04 S2k near mint condition with 39k miles on it for $15k so they are out there. Little bit of PDR to do and it'll be back to mint condition.
See how many people want a stock, unmodified car?
Seriously though, a lot of people want to mod the S because it's pretty easy to do so...but in the end hurt the value of it by doing so. I keep mine stock for a reason but I don't lose any enjoyment in the car by doing so, it's one of those that's just perfect out of the box.
They are out there, be patient and look. Only catch is you have to have money ready and be ready to pounce the minute you find one come up.

I always wanted one, but I can't justify having 2 vehicles right now and no house. Stupid 'Berta oil economy!!!

Dave, only visual upgrade I'd suggest for you is when you need tires, look for a set of AP2 wheels...V1 or 2 or even 3 if you want. I think that'll take the look to the next level and give you a little better offset/width from factory.

I understand Sam's point, but I'm on J's side for modding. Even for my car, I can stock it out in a couple of hours. Won't change a thing on the value.
It's a car. I would always want to differentiate mine from other stock ones. A "tastefully" modded car looks/performs much, much better than the stock one.

I can't understand buying a car and wanting to preserve value rather than making it your own and enjoying it. The S2k rode a little too hard for my liking when stock so I installed coilovers. Stock wheels were OK but a set of lightweight volks are even better.

I wish one day i could just drive by a GPW s2000 in mint condition with an for sale sign, owned by 80 years woman who does not know the value of the car because it was her late husband's car.
Sell it to me for $10,000, like they do it in Chasing Classic Car or wheeler dealers.

And I will snag that S2K for $100 right before you get there.

Like I said, they are out there. You'll have to go out of CA to get them and now is the best time in the northern states.

I can't wait to start buying parts for this thing. I have a Word document created with a list of parts by category
Engine swap was first on the list, so I can cross that off
