- CR Front Bumper
- CR Front Lip
- CR Radio Door
- CR Center Console
- CR Soft-top delete button
- CR Shift Knob
- CR Shift Boot
- CR Tonneau Cover
- CR Sidemarkers
- CR Trunk
- CR Trunk Springs
- CR Wing
- CR Rear Sway Bar
- OEM Hardtop (they weren't really CR specific, just painted black)

May be adding the CR Steering Wheel here shortly, either that or some Hasport diff mounts. I've got the CR Rear Brace, but without the Roll Hoops and a mounting point welded to the shock tower area you can't bolt it up.

The other parts that I didn't buy are because they don't do much or there's better aftermarket support out there -

- Whiteline Front Sway Bar
- Digrappa X-Brace
- Greddy Spectrum Elite (Dual)
- Berk 70mm Test Pipe
- Spoon Thermostat
- Spoon Radiator Cap
- Spoon Fan Switch
- SoS Throttle Body
- SoS 3-bar MAP
- SoS Stage 2 Supercharger
- SoS Pillar Gauge Pod
- KW-V3 Coilovers
- Hasport 70a Motor Mounts
- OEM Black Chrome Emblems (front/rear)
- LHT Brake Master Cylinder Brace
- AEM EMS v2 (AlloyCraft Bracket + USB extension)
- AEM Serial Gauge
- OEM Honda Access Extended Floor Mats (not proud of these lol, way too $$)
- OEM/UKDM Cruise Control Delete Panel (think it's really for the defrost switch on UK cars?)

I feel like that's a good chunk of the mods I've got. I'd like to get CR Seats and Door Panels. I *might* get the steering rack brace though I haven't heard of any noticeable difference between on/off of it.

My school of thought is that a car is however it was made. You can't turn a GSR into an ITR...ever. Even if you went as far as to weld on an ITR roof and floorpan.

I mean no offense when I say that. And obviously, my downer ass attitude probably has no effect on you enjoying your car.

Mine is an AP1 base. With AP2 and CR parts mixed in. I'm very clear to anyone that asks that it is NOT a CR. And that I am, indeed, only attracted to women.

Nobody believes me :'(

Oh, I'm not sweating it. It's not a CR and never will be. But I'm not out painting it Apex Blue and trying to sell it as something it's not. I'm just enjoying being a clone using OEM parts. It's as close as an (04) NFR can be without the number attached to it.

Nice

How do you like the supercharger?

I've been window shopping the KWorks blower kit. I don't really want to spend the $ to go Kpro (k, bro?). But it sucks to have to de-mod the car for emissions if I go with the AEM

I want to join the S2k club

Maybe this weekend. I'm supposed to look at two and a TL.

Any of you get auto loans on your S2k? I can buy cash but would prefer not to in order to help build my credit. The couple banks I spoke to don't do auto loans for anything older than 08, but with my score for newer cars I would be approved for 1.9 (new) and 2.9 (used, newer than 08, up to 125k miles and 115% of NADA value)

I just did a loan for mine because I didn't want to be rushed to sell the black TL. The rate sucked but I'm not top shelf credit anymore due to the house situation a few years back...but they were willing to go much older than 08. This was USAA.

Nope. I paid cash for mine and I'd recommend you do the same if you can. If you want to build credit, get a credit card and pay it off every month.

Check out credit unions for auto loans for special cars. Sometimes there are exceptions for older cars that maintain their value.

Interest isn't the worst thing in the world if timeliness of jumping on a deal is important and you don't want to deplete your rainy day fund for it. They won't see but a small portion of the interest on my loan.

I don't understand this ... at all.

You've had 3 TLs and you're willing to buy a 4th JUST for the color?

I'm one to have an appreciation for a special color combo & extra rarity, but jesus man ... move on and get a car that will give you a smile ear to ear every.single.day.

I don't mean to bust his balls, but owning the same car 4 times in a row sounds borderline crazy to me

I like the 3G's interior & exterior lines .. Having owned one 8 years ago, I would get another paired with a 6MT at the right price.

Or another CLS6 (which I miss dearly )

I would get a lot of other cars before I bought another 3G TL. It was a good car but, IMO, it was the worst type of car an enthusiast could own because TO ME, it was just a car and not really anything special. To others, it certainly is but that was just my ownership experience. Probably because I had an autotragic.

There has never been one ounce of regret in selling it for an S2000.

Hi People. I have a Silverstone/red interior 01 S2K with 38,000 miles on her sitting under cover in a heated garage waiting for spring. It's The previous owner came across a 04 AP2 motor and did a swap so the engine has 14K on it, only problem is I can't rev it to 9.
The story goes that in 2004 there was a train crash that totaled a load of new S2000's and Honda a local shop was able to buy the engines from Honda and sell them to their customers.

I've had many credit cards, always pay them off every month so thats a good thing. Thankful to have a decent credit score, recently paid of college loans as well. I'm 25, so my credit history isnt that old but its good. I was always get asked if I've ever had an auto loan, so i figured having one for like a year or two (max) would be a decent idea (and leave me with more money in my pocket for mods)

hahaha, everyone has this reaction. TBH, I sort of feel the same way. if I got the 3g, i would sell my current 07 beater corolla S and just have one car and I would most likely pay cash. I'd mod it up to a certain degree and just drive and enjoy it like every other time. If I got bored, I've proven to myself that I can sell and recoup most of my money so thats not a problem, plus building beautiful 3G TLs has been a lot of fun, I wouldnt mind doing it again. I've also loved KBP and 6MT forever, and i'm also just really jealous of Jeremy j/k.

BUT if I got an S2k, which I've only had the pleasure of driving once in my life, I would likely keep the corolla as a daily, get a car note, and slowly learn about the car/mods. I'd probably be comfortable with something like 200-250 payment, I could put some down if needed and try to stay below at 15k budget.

thoughts? I'm crazy I know

I still don't totally follow you on the idea of doing it to the same car over and over, but I can totally relate to making a car your own and the process that goes along with it. I find great joy cross shopping, comparing, or installing modifications to improve performance or aesthetics - that's how we differentiate our cars from others on the road.

Aside from all of that, if you are enthusiastic about driving and have an appreciation for engineering, the TL-S does not hold a candle to the S2000 when the roads get twisty or you're on the absolute limit of grip. (a super rigid chassis, 800 pound diet, LSD, and RWD will do that)

I get a throbbing raging hard sensation in mah pants (capable of making me lose consciousness from lack of blood flow) when the temperature is just right, the top is down, RS3 summer tires are warmed up with the tach going over 8k.

Just sayin'.

If you can get a low enough interest rate, take a loan to make the purchase. I did actually end up paying less for my s2k by getting a loan. I put all the cash on CD for the time of the loan and interest gained on that was more than the interest I had to pay over the course of the loan.

I think you've experienced enough TLs for 3 people, let alone just yourself

Do something else for a change! While it was a great car, I don't miss my TL whatsoever now that I have the S2k.

If you can get away with doing this (can't with a CD anymore) and will for sure make more in return than you'd spend on interest, then it makes sense. If one were to get a loan and blow all the money you are "saving" on mods, then not so much since now you're just paying interest.

Try a credit union for a loan. Ours was down to 0.9% for any car that blackbooked at $10k or more.

I had a payment on my S2000 (for 3 months lol). Beyond that, I've paid for cars in cash. The S2000 was the first car I paid for, though.

My GF got a credit union loan for her S2000. Super easy process. Way better interest rates.

For 0.9%, I shoulda bought a NSX. If they do that promotion again....ehhhhh....maybbbeee...

All the cool guys are almost 60. Fuck, time is going too slowly.

Guys, everyone has a car. For me and Q, that car is the 3G (and now also the S2000 because I'm a nut and an asshole, but never both at the same time). For you guys it wasn't your car so I totally get you not understanding it. But as someone that recently acquired "THAT" 3G that I wished my previous 3G was...it was a no brainer and feels totally "worth it". As you all know, all of my cars have 3 pedals, which probably helps...as Sam mentioned.
