Local Honda dealer has a 05 Suzka blue one with 71k miles for sales. $21k... won't even lower a penny on the asking price.

lol. Who knew you could profit from buying and driving a car.

I can't because I know I'd regret it but it's nice knowing I could.

I just can't find those sellers,
If it was traded in, the dealership likely gave them 12-14k. Guaranteed. Some people are too impatient or lazy to sell a vehicle themselves, so they trade it in and get robbed.

Dealerships always give a BS excuse like "we don't know if there's anything wrong with it or if costly repairs are needed before we sell it off." Right.

Anyone and everyone else will post a vehicle privately and list it for what it's worth.

Oh, there's plenty of "right ones" out there. The only thing missing from the equation is your pocket book

There are less than 10 being advertised within 25 miles. and half of them are through dealers.

There are few that is suspiciously cheap like $12k for a 05 with 60k miles through some 3rd party dealers.

There is also another one with 19k miles for $34k.... about 100 miles away from me...

So what's the problem? If you sell it down the line, you'll sell it for a high price also. It's not like you're buying the car today for 25k and tomorrow it'll be worth 10k.

You gotta pay to play when it comes to s2000s. The price is high because the demand is high. I bet prices will be going up over time and you'll be kicking yourself for not jumping on it now. Soon you'll be saying that people are crazy for asking 28k for one.

Or leave the state and buy one. I'm sure there's plenty for sale across the US. Or buy a dirty girl with high mileage for much less.

I get the feeling you WANT one, but aren't necessarily serious about buying one. You're debating a wide variety of cars, all of which you like, but can't settle on any particular one due to conflicting needs and wants.

I don't think anyone, or very few for that matter, got a great deal on theirs if they bought within the last couple years. Eventually the desire to own one overshadows the price.

People thought NA1 nsxs were overpriced at 30k. Look at them now hitting 45k and people are still scooping them up. They're ultra overpriced now, but that's not stopping people.

try auto trader. I just checked last night.

But there are always something wrong with the car like missing exhaust tips. 1 headlight is faded and the other one is brand new.

while those are all minor problems, but i am worried about something worse is hidden.

Honestly...the more I sit and watch, the more my jaw drops.
And the more people go and bolt over-fenders on and voltex wings the more I'm thinking...fk yes...shrinking the population of non/lightly modified in excellent condition and perfect mechanical order with no rust under...

THEN you'll have a piece to sell.

The way I see it, simple.

8-12K gets you rebuilt title...bacon fenders...missing exhaust tips, torn soft top, oxidized headlights and likely some clear coat failing or poorly repainted panels, engines running rough or not a lot of maintenance done.

15-20K gets you pretty well maintained...waxed...loved...if repaired, repaired right...

25-32K gets you unicorn color with no miles (and dry gaskets!) and a white glove handjob.

15k-20k is my target budget now for a decent s2k... like flip, i'm probably going to have to search outside Cali...

but another 10-12k for a handjob...... might be something to consider...

I bet there's no shortage of them for sale across the US either in any condition, from shit to mint. Flip, quit making excuses. Either jump on the s wagon and enjoy every minute of it, or buy something more sensible!!

There's no such thing as a great deal on such a car, these days. And if there is, it's likely very far from you and six other people will be line to scoop it up before you even get there.

Ooooor.... Get a canadian one. Guys start selling them off now, before winter. You can save some cash in the next 4-8 weeks.

But then it'll be in km.. and i'll get in trouble for underspeeding in an s2000..

yeah and a sticker price from the original sale

Having owned 2 on both ends of the spectrum of colors, in my opinion...owning one and smiling about it is more important than what color. There aren't any that look bad and they all have their benefits from a looks/modding potential perspective. When I'm smiling in it while driving I never really care what color it is...although yellow is fun to look at in the reflections of other cars.

Jokes on you! Since the gauges are digital, you just push a button and it changes to MPH. The only thing that doesn't change is the thermostat temp for some odd reason. It'll stay in celcius.

A friend of mine picked up a Texas AP2. Just hit the button to change it to KPH. Done.

I'm not picky on color. As long as the car runs and has no issues. I'm good.
