Okay...just bought an external mic and tested on my D7000...for anyone contemplating the UK mod (keep in mind I have the high flow cat)...this is a very accurate capture of what it truly sounds like inside the car. Listen with headphones and judge for yourself if you want to hack up your exhaust. Personally...I love it...and when I've been coasting in a higher gear for a bit and upshift...I get a small backfire

Well, mine bypasses some percentage of the exhaust past the rear mufflers for the sound...stock is much quieter until you hit vtec, but even then...the roar is up front.

I've really been wanting a bit more snap crackle pop from the exhaust but not to the point that it's annoying.

On a side note, guy at bar was trying to tell me how much more awesome his TL SHAWD was because it was AWD and had a bigger engine with a V6. I just about died laughing.

Love it, where'd you get it done and how much was it? I feel like changing the stock exhaust still keeps it stock right?

Then maybe you should learn about stop signs too...

I agree...looks stock, but just moves the grumble from all engine at vtec, to out the rear, which I love. I don't think you'd regret it...although research the different sounds with different sized tubing...I did 38MM (1.5", yankee) but you can go smaller...if you're keeping stock cat though, it'll be a little more toned down than me.
LOL...hey, in Florida...a rolling stock IS a complete stop!

Ebay.

Not sure how BRZ is, but my rear axle nuts make fitment loose. I used a Dremel and sanded down the centers so they fit flush.

Finally joined the club tonight after lusting for years. 2004 Silverstone with 65k and one owner. No fun driving it home while it was raining buckets tonight but I will have to share pics once I've had a chance to clean it up and the sun comes out.
Congrats! Hope you got a good deal on it and enjoy it every possible day.
What kind of track day are you going to do? Full circuit? Or AutoX?
Make sure to grab a GoPro and mount it right over the center console where the secret compartment is, you'll be able to reanalyze your lines and see where you can make improvements on your next track day.

Get the Modifry mount, it's stupid simple to install and rattle-free!

I will have an instructor with me for the first hour or two to learn the track and the S2000 limits - we have the track for 5 hours though
I am just worried because I only like to track cheap cars (just in case) - and by cheap, I mean max $3-4,000 - so fixing body panels won't hurt the value of the car much
When the instructor leaves your car, just make sure to stay within your limits and relax.
I can't stress enough how much quality tires & tire pressure plays a key role on how the car behaves. The S2000 has great suspension from factory, just remember tires tires tires.

Crashing happens when you have substantial amount of seat time at the track and start getting cocky. Usually the beginners can't even go fast enough to crash their cars.
Just have fun!
it's a full circuit - different cars - I might be able to do a few skid pad exercises first if I am allowed - and it's open

My first ever track day was with my newly bought BRZ. It was when my car had about 1500 miles, everything was stock. I didn't have any instructors, I did get a lot of advice from other track junkie friends before.
You will have fun man. Remember the award is to drive your car back home after the track day.
Have fun man!
