Man, the 8G coupe is growing on me.

So..should I put buy these (in bronze) on the Accord ? Someone local is selling them for a good price.

Looked long but couldn't find a set on a 7g coupe.

Get out of here Accord hater!

.

Alright guys, I got a $1500 budget to play around with .. what should go on the Accord?

I can either:

Enkei RPF1 18 x 7.5s (Used from a friend, good price)
25mm Wheel spacers
Coilovers

or

Coilovers
Timing belt service

Suggestions?

That's an easy one... timing belt service and coilovers. You don't want to slack on the timing belt service or your new wheels and spacers will become giant paperweights.

That's a no-brainer. I suggest he put the whole $1500 into the car's maintenance.

^Agreed.

The only thing I don't like about that 8G is the grille. Just looks out of place.

I can see what you mean. In the first photo it looks like a paintmatched billet style grille. In the 2nd to last photo, you can see the vertical braces as well, and it looks busy. Just doesn't flow with the car.

^I feel the opposite about the fitment. I guess I like a little more aggressive set-ups but I would never run one on my car.

That blue 8G Accord coupe with the HRE P40s (I'm guessing) would be a quite a cool car if it actually had the horsepower to match the looks.

And RWD.

I love the Accord but I think they tried way too hard to make it look like a RWD car and not actually be one.

I'd agree with the above. I mean the 3.5L 6mt is no slouch, but that's M3 stance right there.

Werd, but i wish Honda had made it rwd. It'd have made that car much better and not worry bout staggered fitment on a fwd.

I got a question for the Accord owners on AZ. I've been looking into purchasing a 2009 Accord EX-L V6 sedan and have come across some issues with the car on other Honda Accord forums.

1) Oil consumption on 2008-2010 models with both 4 cylinder and V6 engines. Has anyone on here had issues with this or heard others having problems with this?

2) Second is not a big deal but just seeing if anyone had this happen to them. The rear and sometimes front pads would wear out prematurely. I can just replace the rotors and pads with better after market part.

I'm more concerned about the oil consumption issue.

Thanks,

John

I never had any oil consumption issues with my 09 V6 Coupe... so can't comment on that.

The rear pads did go often despite honda replacing the retaining clips of the pads (they said would fix the problem)

I just took my ass to autozone and got a the best pad they make which came with a life time free replacement warranty.

That whole job took maybe 30-45 minutes to do so I gave up dealing with the dealership and just replace em' myself every 15k miles or so.

I dont have the car anymore. But when I did, that was my solution. Hopefully this helps!

The rear pads wearing prematurely is still an issue.

My brothers V6 burns some oil, it depends on how you drive it.

anyone installed the spoiler on their 7th gen?

usually honda/acura's will have pilot holes/bumps to just drill through and bam you put the spoiler studs through.

my accord has no pilot marks, only a clear/open area where the spoiler bolts are supposed to protrude. 3-4 inches or so.

i dont want my spoiler sitting to far forward or off the back from the normal location..

any input?

I think SuperTrooper has or had DEPO blackhoused headlights as well. They look much clearer, too.

Yep, I had DEPOs too. Should of never sold them. I'll probably end up getting another set in the near future.

Back in the day...
