Anybody remove their intake resonator? I'm thinking of doing it, sounds like a relatively popular mod, and it's free

I did it on my '98 Ford Escort ZX2 and put 100k miles on it that way with no issues ... I even had a dryer hose (the metallic one) CAI ... Ghetto FTW

Well...what a fantastic thread. This is my '99 EX-L V6 2dr.

Biggest projects I'm working on now are swapping the auto transmission to a 6spd, and installing a Rotora BBK.

^ Wow man, that's beautiful! I just love red Accords, no matter what generation. The 6 speed swap will make it that much better. Nice work!

For some reason the link didn't allow me to see the forum you're on, so can you post what mods you currently have?

If I had the other cars you do to drive around Terry the Accord would probably get driven less, too.

The good news is that this has been the most reliable and well balanced car that I've ever owned. Sure the Skylark was a torque monster and the CRX Si was amazing around curves, but this car has enough performance, handling and fuel economy to keep me entertained and happy to own it on a daily basis. I hope to get another 100k miles out of her.

These cars are extremely efficient and reliable, it's amazing.

I have tracked my car twice this month and it still drives the way it should, no mechanical problems what so ever. My car currently has 93,000 miles with regular routine maintenance.

What amazes me is the amount of performance I'm getting, despite the mileage.

My car trapped 96.01mph in the 1/4 on a notoriously slow track.

Theoretically, I could trap 98 / 99mph on a sea level track .

I love my Accord haha.

You guys need to do some serious catching up mileage-wise. 100k on an 03, SuperTrooper? Puh-thetic

Just kidding, congrats on the milestone! Your dealer's probably as happy as you are, 105k coming up! Or have you already done the service?

125k here, I'm honestly amazed it hasn't given me any problems, considering my laziness with keeping up with its service.

EDIT: I love how you were going 50 mph at 99999, and 0 at 100k.

Thanks! No, still have to have the 105k service done. I'm going to start calling around in a few weeks to shop prices. It's something that I'll most likely just take to the dealer though. I really like my local dealer so if their price isn't completely outragous, it'll just go there.

I bought it pre-owned in August of '07 with 34k miles on it, so the 1st owner only drove it about 7k miles a year. I on the other hand have been averaging around 20k a year. It gets driven for sure.

I haven't taken my car to a dealer or any shop whatsoever in about 50k miles. I've been maintaining it myself. Mobil1 oil changes every 5500 miles, tire rotation every oil service, cleaning the air filter every 20k miles and a battery change from the OEM one about a year ago. Other than those basics, it's been 100% trouble-free.

The 2nd best color combo for a 6mt Accord, of course SMR/Ivory being 1st.

And yes, drop it like it's hot pronto!

nothing in mind yet. lower and lip kit is high priority.

I don't wanna go too big. 18's.

I'm debating putting an 06-07 conversion back there on the rear.

Werd, werd and werd! OEM lip kit is the best looking lip out there, anything over 18s on an Accord is overkill, and I love the 7.5gen conversion! Oh and of course the drop is a big WERD!

can i get away with just the tails and trunk.. the bumper doesn't look necessary to change.

The body panels arent exactly alike. Might want to make a visit to my 2nd home www. and take a look. I dunno if it's worth doing. I'd just add the rear spoiler and use the money saved to buy J-pipe/exhaust/AEM V2 or something else on your short list.

The forum you tried to link didn't work. I'm sure it was supposed to be v 6 performance dot net though. AZine deletes it if you don't type it out for some reason.

Rockstar, I'm not sure how much wiring is needed. I'm sure there's some kind of relay you'd need to use for the LED lights, but I honestly don't have that info. Go to the forum I listed above and check out the 7th gen section. My user name there is Accordian. There's probably tons of info on what it takes to do the conversion.

papa, I don't spend money on performance anymore.

I can appreciate the 6 speed for what it's already packing under the hood.

I parked next to an 07 at the dealer. if you're referring to the rear quarters, they looked exactly alike.

I'm a member of v6pee already. (Louisianimal)

I may grow to like the 03' rear bit I'm a big fan of the 06-07 tails and spoiler.

I'll keep you guys updated.

Does anyone have a AEM V2 for the 06 07 year. I want to know if the V2 has the air filter close to the battery and not close to the bumper.

Never mind, the AEM is not going to work. Now looking at Injen CAI.

I think what you're looking for is a short ram intake.

if you're looking for any gains at all get the real deal and use a full CAI

Not exactly true. Get CAI because it makes power where your motor spends most of its time (low to mid-range) driving. SRI actually makes more power up top than CAI in most set-ups. Most AEM v2's are short Rams and yield more power than AEM CAI.

you can remove intake res and get a better flowing filter for the stock box and basically have a short ram.

in my experiences.. short rams are good for butt dynos. waste of money IMO.

of course anyone who owns one would disagree

the v2 for my accord is a full length intake.
