Seller is still trying to sell me on the fact the wagon is rare and hard to find even though he admitted to the fact that price I found is what he paid for it. Not wanting budge on his price. Guess it might be onto looking for another one.

Missed a lot of discussion here! Manufacturer car is most of the time an exec car with GM. Occasionally, they are early-build cars and have slightly different parts lists than usual. Purchase without worries.
Edit: The prior owner of yours paid only $39k? With mods, I'd be offering $40-42k, which is more than reasonable.

Honestly, if I was to flip mine I'd list it for low 40's as that is where the market is. Hell, when I was looking I was finding (and having people offer me) cars that had similar miles to mine, some 2011 models for mid-40's. Even currently they are around there on eBay and the forum.

So if you like the one you found Jason, I say go for it. Low 40's with mods is a good deal...

I will send you a PM. Not going to post up information making it too obvious what car it is in case I don't buy it the seller has the opportunity to try and get what he is looking for.

CCC...I spoke with this guy today, his name is Mario...
Fucking Gray Wagon, 6MT...but same deal...exec car. He's at $45K asking price and willing to negotiate "a little".
I can't spend that kinda money and I pulled back the reigns on my search, so I'd suggest you call him.
His has 7300 miles...6MT...dark gray...
downsides:
salvage title due GM exec or some driving school thing...he has all paper work
light interior...and sunroof plug ( why? weight?)
Anyway...
I'm not really sharing anything too personal about my interaction so I figured I'd openly share in case it's a viable option for you.

she's like...dafuq? are you fucking stupid...salvage, rebuilt, it's all fuckery you will not partake in AND light colored leather AND no sunroof AND 10K more than you said a V might cost.

Okay babe...

If they were like low $30k then maybe, but i couldn't justify paying the same or more than a clean car for it knowing that ever selling it would be tough. I'm sure the right buyer will come along, but just wasn't for me.

Further what he says in that ad about executive cars losing their warranty is not true. Cars released to GM employees keep a factory warranty and are maintained by GM itself....those are the GM manufacturer cars to get, and they don't have a salvage title.
Move on to the next one IMHO. Rare or not, most wagons still have a factory warranty on them except for the 2011s.

Even though it's not even 2 oil changes in.. it's probably been driven harder and taken more wear than a V with 10x the miles.

Then the one I am looking at appears to be an Exec car then based on Bobs info. Cause the old dealer listing I found showed it still came with a GM warranty when it was sold last winter. It also isn't listed as a rebuilt title.

Hell yeah! Just because wagons are rare doesn't mean folks should get something they didn't bargain for. And that guy was either misinformed or fibbing.
That one may be safe then. PM me the deets for further comment.

^ Good call.

An executive car wouldn't bother me b/c the title is clean and warranty is in tact... but those racetrack cars scare me. There were a couple on eBay a few months back (different ones) and I don't think they sold either.

Thing is someone may want them... but not at "regular" CTS-V wagon pricing. If I'm buying a car with a rebuilt title that is out of warranty and was used as a track car, I better be paying at least 30-40% below market for it.

In a way, my towel is already pretty used up...
I know...but now I'm afraid it'll go from a want to a need if I drive one.
In other news, with the TL raised up slightly and the slightly beefier tires, it's driving pretty nicely. I guess I'm getting old and not want it to drive like shiet for the sake of slammed stance so cool...
I also have been driving it in reverse everywhere so I can say I have a RWD sedan racekor.

So I was going to give it a couple of days and hit him back with one last offer but he actually messaged me today seeing if I was still interested in trying to close the gap at all that we have between each others prices. I made one more offer this lunch. It was my final offer so we will see what happens. Hopefully he accepts. It was closer to his price than it was mine.

No...YOU! Pay the 3K!
I swear...if my point were 30K...TL could get sold...make payment $400 or less...
at 35-40K...I'd have to sell both the TL and S2000 to make it reasonable to me...
and I am not confident I'd be happy about losing both those and having a payment in one fell swoop just to have a badazz powerful heavy bad mpg panty machine.
I wish my wife would let me just buy all the cars. I need 1 of each. Except the Aztec...I don't need that one.

I don't have anything major... mostly lighting stuff.. which, unfortunately, requires the front bumper to come off. So... if I'm going to take that off, may as well buy the front splitter and new grills. So I'm working on stockpiling those things so I can do the work in the winter
