Only a sucker would buy for that price. If a 2011 is worth that, then my 2013 with north of 33k miles is worth $70k.

Well, either way it's way out of my realm of possibility so I'm just trying to put it out of my head.

As an owner, I love seeing links like that . But yeah, way overpriced. I could see it going for high $40's/low 50's

Curious...what did you pay for your sedan, JB?
I'm seriously getting obsessed and considering making this happen but the price ranges from state to state seem ridiculous...

PS - if you're thinking sedan, those can be had even cheaper. They don't carry the premium the vagon seems to...

yeah, really...that's a killer price, man. Congrats! Didn't realize you had gotten a wagon!
I love them, but they are about 10K more than I can even fathom...wife might kill me. From what I gather, I'll die with a smile on my face.

If I can get low 30's and only give up the TL...I'd still have my 6MT roadster fix...

with an auto V though, Betty could drive it. Fkng run for your lives...

Yeah, I wasn't in a rush and wasn't looking for silver, but I couldn't turn that down. Plus, I actually love the silver and honestly... I don't see many in this color. I'd say Black is the most popular Vagon color I've seen. Then again the car itself is rare so it's not like you see a ton. But it took about 4-5 weeks from start to finish and was a slow process... but as I said, I wasn't in a rush so I waited it out and it paid off...

Here's the latest pics (minus the one at the gas station) https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/juniorbeans-porsche-cts-v-wagon-thread-%2Arocker-blades-installed-pg-10%2A-910161/page10/#post15519803 . But yeah, it's a blast and the reason I got an auto is so we can drive it to the beach and my wife can take it out if she needs to. With the 911 she had to go with me b/c that was a manual. But with this, she's not trapped and relying on me if she needs to run an errand...

J.. buy LSA powertrain and rear assembly from V for $10k.. swap out powertrain on Betty's SRX.. profit.

Don't even tell her.. just say you need to give the SRX a tune-up.

Ah, but no! Do not put it out of your head! Wagons are typically in the $40k's. Give it another year and you'll start to see them in the upper $30's.

Of course, sedans are already in the 30's if you don't require the magical 5th door....

I'm not helping, am I?

There have been rumors of a SRX-V for a while now. Not sure if it would ever happen, but with the CTS-V being a sedan only beginning in MY2016... you never know.

And yeah, I know I did. You are helping...the reason a Wagon is so tempting aside from looks...is that it crosses off another justification on why I "NEED" to make this upgrade. It adds versatility to my checklist.

I was sad to find out the sedan 2G does NOT have folding seats. Fk you TL, pretty sure you caused this trend.

Funny enough, B drives slow...until she gets pissed. Then I look at my phone and pray and try not to distract her.

If I told her what I was doing...she'd be like..."well 10K isn't THAT bad for that, right?!"/??

Pretty much how I (and many others) were able to justify it...

The Speed Lover?s Station Wagon - WSJ

The Speed Lover?s Station Wagon - WSJ

"Scott Bonato, 32, a senior client partner with Oracle from Franklin, Mich., on his 2013 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon, as told to A.J. Baime.

My wife knew she’d married a car guy. I have a 1979 Trans Am, a 1957 Ford Fairlane, a 1982 DeLorean. We had a kid coming, and we needed a family car. I convinced her that, even though this car I wanted was out of our budget, it made sense. A station wagon with a five-star safety rating! What could be more family-friendly? I promised if we got it, I wouldn’t talk about getting another car for at least two years. That was the deal.

What I didn’t tell her: The Cadillac CTS-V Wagon was the most powerful, high-performance American made station wagon money could buy—maybe ever. Not many were built, especially manuals like the one I wanted.

In January 2013, I took home the CTS-V. (MSRP was north of $60,000, but there was some discounting and attractive financing.) Soon after, we brought our daughter home from the hospital in the wagon. There’s so much refinement engineered into this vehicle. My wife would drive it and have no idea what it was capable of. She wasn’t sold on the looks, but she liked the heated seats and how smooth and quiet it was.

Then my buddies came over, and they were, like, “We can’t believe you let him have this nearly 200-mph car with a 556-horsepower, 6.2-liter, supercharged V8.” She realized she’d been completely fleeced.

Now I keep my daughter’s baby seat in the wagon, and there’s room in the back for a pack ’n play. My only complaint: These wagons are hard to find, and if someone rear-ends me, how will I find another one? I guess that’s not really a complaint.

I do occasionally drive the car spiritedly with my wife in it. She’s not a big fan of the acceleration capabilities. But she rolls with it pretty well."

Excellent article.

And yes the utility I need is one of my main justifications for my pending purchase.

Would depend on where it's coming from. West coast would likely be around $1500-$1600. Midwest probably $1000-$1200. East coast likely $600-$1000. Those are just estimates based on vehicles I've shipped or had shipped before...

Should I be scared of a vehicle that is listed as a manufacture vehicle on carfax report?

^ Is there any way to know why it was a manufactured vehicle? I know that sometimes employee cars are labeled that. Sometimes courtesy vehicles as well.

If you can find out and are able to see the car I think you'd be OK. I've read of some people getting good deals on manufactured vehicles. I've also read of people needing to put a little bit of money into them. So may want to consider an inspection as well...

If you ever want to sell it,

It's a branded title.. plus many mfg vehicles have issues. It was a beta car. Reminds me of TAC's manufacture M5.. they couldn't get it to launch. It was either a bug in the engine controls or a fuse setting that didn't allow it. Anyways.. if you want a discount on it, don't intend to sell for a while, it might not be a bad choice, but you never know. I think some mfg actually have their beta cars destroyed. I remember seeing a post of two beautiful SEMA IS-Fs crushed.

^ That was my thing. One of the lures of the CTS-V.. especially the wagon, is how it's rare and commands a premium. So while the Porsche was just depreciating, this thing actually maintains. So I had some people reach out to me with GM track cars, etc... but they had rebuilt titles... something I wasn't interested in. Even with it documented, the value wasn't there for me.

So if it's a screamer of a deal and you're not worried about resale, those kind of cars shouldn't scare you off. But for me, there are enough available that I waited and only looked at those with a clean title...

hmm.. just read that GM fleet vehicles might just be randomly picked out of the assembly and used by execs, etc. If that was the case and it's not a beta car, not a branded title.. might not be a bad idea. I'd check the title status first.

^ Yeah, some are just exec cars, etc. I'd say if you can get the history and find out why, it may not be a bad idea... but w/o documentation I personally would likely keep looking.

It has already had 2 other owners since then. It was sold after only 675miles of being a Manufacture vehicle and then sold at auction. It has since then appears to have had 46k problem free miles put on it including the current owner who has put on 10k miles since they bought it a year ago.

Also if it makes any difference then yes I plan to keep this car for 5-6 years for sure.

I bought both the Autocheck and Carfax history for it as I have narrowed it down to pretty much this car. This is the only issue I have had come up so I am asking for opinions on if you guys think it would be an issue to be scared of.

So with that short of a life it was probably an executive vehicle for those first 675 miles. Probably not a big deal.

Again, depends what you want. I wanted a clean title with no stories so I didn't have to worry about anything. But if you don't mind the manufacture title and the car has been trouble-free and maintained... go for it!

As long as the title shows clear and it's still covered by mfg warranty..

personally.. it would have to be a steal of a deal. I almost pulled the trigger on a rebuilt IS-F several years ago.. it was an 09 with headers, full exhaust, joez intake, sweet suspension, audio, and nice wheels, for $24k from a dealer that repairs cars for a living and resells. They do meticulous work.. I just couldn't get myself to do it even though it was at least 12k lower than a stock '09.

It is the one with mods I posted about before. It is being listed as a price like any other wagon right now. It has a clear title though from both services with no reported accidents of any type.

Thank you Google saved pages. I just found when it was last listed for sale it was listed for only 39,998. That was also 15k miles ago.

It has since been modded so it might be worth a bit more but I say now it is worth maybe 40-42k tops. You think some on the wagon market would pay more or not?

Low 40's isn't a bad deal if it's been modded (depending on the mods). If the title is clear you should be good
