I live on top of a hill. In six winters with Vs, three on Blizzaks, I got stuck zero times. The tricks are: a) skinnier tires on the rear, b) you modulate the throttle and c) on some hills you may (I never did) have to turn off traction control. You'll have trouble only with the steepest hills.
Oh what I was asking about is intense. Driving to the top of a ski resort in the West Virginia mountains can get pretty bad and pretty steap. Lots of switch backs and some rather steep roads at the end.

So I saw the Black Diamond Tricoat wagon I always see around the neighborhood my parents place is but this time at a gold course. So I was able to walk around and get a good close up. I am 100% sold that I will wait to find a BDT or OBM at this point. Those are definitely my two favorite colors for sure. It even had the dark wheels and yellow brakes which I think give it such an aggressive look.

Yeah, leaning towards the Corsa. Really want to make sure there's nothing even resembling drone since we'll be doing mostly highway miles... so that exhaust seems perfect. Aggressive when you get on it, but no drone when cruising.

That said I have not ruled out the electric cutouts as they are much cheaper and with the touch of a button I can just run full stock. I'm just afraid they'll be too loud when open (or break and get stuck/leak)...

JB, did you decide on an exhaust?

A muffler delete is exactly what I want.. but not sure if I'll miss stealth mode. I've been thinking about cutouts instead.

2009 CTS-V QTP Electric Cutouts - YouTube

If I went with an axle / cat back, I'd definitely get corsa. Hope you can find a good deal!

$1200 isn't that bad. I saw some +$2k setups.. +1 on quality mods, especially where it counts.

I hear the 1LE is sublime to drive, plus I love the sound of a raw V8. I wouldn't say the 1LE is a step down from the ZL1/V. Straights maybe, but my favorite feels are in the corners. I hit a long bend this morning, which I drive daily during my commute. Almost zero traffic, wide open road. I love opening it up and feeling near the limit, which I did often in the TL. In the V, no matter how hard I've pushed, it just feels like she can go more.

I haven't tested close to the limit in the V, nor will I, but she feels like she can take the sweeping curve comfortably in triple digits. I guess I'll just go 10 under the speed limit through there.. save gas.. same feels.

Talking about the ZL1.. love this vid, pretty spot on too!

Good to hear. Sounds like at least for traveling home over Christmas time on the main interstates I will be fine. I ran staggaed winters on the F but sounds like that might now be good on the V though.

Especially in the wagon. The sedan has more exhaust sound in the cabin stock compared to the wagon.

Poor V. Those wheels!
Actually....I bought a spare tire, it fits in the back, and the wagon sub sits inside the spare. There's a pic earlier in this thread. The sub is pretty decent IMHO, though like any part of any stock audio system, it could be better.

So I am confused here now. The wagon has a spare and the sub is extra or the wagon has a sub but you have to buy the spare tire?

I've seen some sweet spare wheel subs. I'd run a IB setup over the spare.

I would like to build a spare tire sub setup. I have an extra Memphis Audio 12in sub and 500 watt amo laying around I could use. I would want to build something that is plug and play. That I could have it locally but then when I make long road trips I could pull it out and then put the spare and the factory sub back in.

So input on price. Would 46k for a 2011 with upper pulley, heat exchanger, airraid, ported throttle body, corsa exhaust, recaros, and pano with 47k miles on it be higher than the going value right now?

Is it OBM or BDF? The mods are 3-4k, depending on how you slice it. I think you should be able to get it a little lower, but that's pretty bang on for a 2011 Vagon.

You can do better by 2-3k as a WAG, but with wagons, people are getting their asking price or close to it generally. At least you would already have mods. In addition, as a 2011 it should be already off warranty or close to it, so it doesn't matter whether you have mods. You'll also want to ask who tuned it with all those mods.

Isn't the supercharger warrantied though to like 100k or 120k somethings like that?

KDI is definitely the go to place for aftermarket parts for the V. I'm sure they have good tuning support but it's not a popular name for tuning. Parts, yes.

I could always get the tuning checked out at JHR Performance or PCM of NC which are both forum vendors and right in my back yard basically in NC.

holy mole' bob.. the cutouts on this V seem like it's precat. Check out the exhaust pressure coming off this thing, almost blew down the banners.. I think I'm doing this.

It sounds completely stock when they're closed though. How would you like opening them up at the stop light.. scare the shit out of everyone.
Here's his pull with the cutouts closed..

All my neighbors are angry about my cars. Cutouts almost seem necessary to continue the trend.

Have to imagine the sound was amplified a good bit by being inside.
