So, I'm thinking of ordering a set of Oil Catch Can kit for my car. I read up on the stuff, and it seems like a must for all Mazdaspeed cars.
This pic is from other member on msf, he got this much of crap from just a month of hard driving.

I was like that too whrn i was stock. Our stock tune is extremely rich. Doesnt ur car put out black smoke briefly when u go WOT?
That's why you should get a Cobb AP right now.
Really, you should get an OCC kit and do a seaform treatment.

i havent noticed any black smoke. im never seen my car take off with out me in it yet. and i really dont see anything in the mirror.
Ill look into the OCC and sea foam. should i do what ST did or will the seafoam take care of it

Matt Diamond OCC kit is the best I heard.
And, how many miles does your car have right now? Regardless, yes, you should do what ST did to his car. And when you are due for the next oil change, you should seaform it. You must change your engine oil after seaform.
I'm planning to do the OCC asap and do seaform when I'm due for an oil change since I'm now at 10,500 miles.
I know a lot of people are doing seaform and cleaning EGR pipe every 10k miles.

Yes. I totally feel you. I've been living with my gf for almost 2.5 years now (planning to get married next summer), and every time I do something on my car, I have to explain everything to her.

She's pretty cool with it though. She knows me too well. I rarely overspend or buy something without researching thoroughly or budgeting.
Wait, you dont have a catch can? Thats the first thing I would install on any intercooled car. You run a risk of oil blowing past the seals of the turbo and getting into the intercooler, and then the intercooler is ruined.

But really, you should definitely get an OCC kit. It's really healthy for your car. It's about $150, I think. I'll update you on it since I'm trying to order one.

And I've been reading up on this stuff before I bought my car. And nobody seemed like having a problem to that extent, but it was obvious that I had to get one sooner or later.
I'm gonna get a dual catch can version.

I'm thinking of getting an upgraded bpv and can't seem to decide between Forge and Turbosmart.. It's all pretty much the same quality with similar pricing of $150.
I'll be running stage 2 map from this saturday and will be pushing up to 19.5-20psi of boost, finally. Thus, one step colder spark plugs which are being installed this saturday along with a hpfp internal, and an upgraded bpv is highly recommended. It's more like supporting mods. The stock bypass valve holds up to 17psi with no problem, but people have been problems with bpv leaking after running higher boosts. Otherwise, I wouldn't have thought about upgrading it. I think it's pretty cheesy when people just change it out for that obnoxious woosh sound.

If you're still dead-set on getting an Miata, maybe this will stop you in your tracks

I haven't done tons of searching around yet for an OCC, but from when I looked there didn't seem to be anything I could find that was plug and play with instructions. It was kind of mod it yourself to get it to fit kind of stuff, which I can do but would much rather buy something that's going to fit with little modification. What brand/type were you looking at JS?
Off topic but if I added a catback would I absolutely need to get an Accessport or would I be fine untuned? Right now all I have is the Cobb SRI. I was also thinking about maybe a Cobb TIP at some point. If I don't tune it will I be taking a chance of trashing the motor?
I'm not even sure if any mods are worth it for me since I live at 2000ft above sea level and the highest octane we get out here is 91.

Now for a CBE, no you won't need a AP. No chance of you blowing up at all unless you continuously go WOT in 6th gear when you are going like 35-40mph.
And, if you are not going to modify your car more, don't get a TIP. It doesn't do anything. It's just like our bypass valve. If you are not modded, it doesn't make any difference. Also, why are you trying to get a CBE as your second mod? Is it just for the sound? If it is, then it's totally cool. But if you are looking for any performance gain with it, it's going to be less than 4-5hp/tq. Just keep that in mind when you are ready to purchase. There are so many other mods that you can benefit from with cheaper pricing.

2000ft sea level
damn man. lol However, even at 2000ft sea level... remember... we can make so much more power with some cheap mods. Of course, it's worth it. I always tell you to get the Cobb Accessport because you will learn so much about car in general.

Yeah, that's why I'm trying to find a place very hidden and put a black one..
Or I'll just put one under the hood and call it a day.
I usually hate putting anything on my car in general.
How's your ride?

I'm more or less done with it for the time being, there is one more mod I am dying to do, but its strictly cosmetic.
If I jump on another TV series or something...the mods will probably start again.

Great. We'll talk.
I'm finally installing my hpfp in 2 days...
Let's
jk.. I've been wanting to check out your car for a long time. I'm a Mustang fan but never ridden or driven a Challenger before.

As for the OCC kit, this is the best you can get. http://www.perautod.com/

the sound of the Corksport exhaust on the MS6. There's a few videos on YouTube and it actually reminds me a lot of the exhaust sound I had on my Accord which I was super happy with. I'm know realistically I wouldn't gain much as far as HP goes, it's just an audible thing. The stock exhaust is pretty quiet unless you're WOT and even then the BPV makes a lot more noise than the exhaust. As far as the TIP goes, the previous owner told me that was the only other modification he would have put on the car if he kept it. When I took the stock TIP off it did appear quite restrictive compared to the COBB design. It's pretty cheap (under $200) and I thought it might give a small hp gain, but it sounds like from your experience that's not really the case, huh?
The Accessport is intriguing, but I just have zero experience with mapping or adjusting the ECU, so it's kind of scary for me. I'm sure once I've had the car for a year or so I'll be craving more power and I'll break down and get one, but for now it's quick enough... I guess.
And no no no, I will never ever ever go WOT in 6th gear at 35mph lol. Even going 65mph at 3,000 RPM in 6th gear at like 20% throttle making 3 PSI of boost when passing someone makes me think I should down shift to 4th gear ha ha. I'm so glad the guy installed a boost gauge in it so I can monitor how I'm driving.Ok, another question, does it make any sense whatsoever to get the one step colder plugs if I'm not planning on modding much more than what I've mentioned with the TIP or CBE? Even if I was dead set on not doing anything else than the SRI that's already on it, whould it benefit me at all to go with those plugs? I read through a few threads online and it seems no one has any concrete evidence they do anything, but people say they reduce the shutter at WOT and make it idle smoother. All in the head or do you think they actually have these effects on our engines?

Dude, corksport CBE on MS6 sounds awesome. Definitely recommended.
Spendng 200 bucks for a TIP is not worth it. Its the last bolt on I would recommend.
Out main restrictive parts are located in stock airbox, fuel pump, stock tune, downpipe flex design, exhaust, then probably bpv and tip.
You won't need one step colder plugs unless you run higher than 18 lbs of boost. So no it won't do anything on ur current set up.
I'm still noob at adjusting tune.. but I gotta say, its REALLY fun. You just learn so much about how the system works. Its so easy to learn and use too. Cobb AP is famous due to its user friendly system.
And one of the most valuable things about ap is that it allows you to monitor almost ALL parameters..
