I'm surprised, the reviews I read said the base seats were much improved over the previous-gen.

Just test drove a new 5.0. Had some spare time in between meetings outside.
The dealer had only one 5.0 model. It had zero options. It was this ugly yellow color one which I hated.
The salesman started to give me that dumb attitude again saying oh we dont do test drives. This is a special car. People dont buy these cars with many miles on it.
In that situation, I usually tell them to eff off and leave but I did have to kill about 1.5 hours... so I decided to out-cocky them.
After some magical moments, they let me test drive it.
The car drove marvelously. It was super smooth. The rear end feels much lighter footed than the previous generation exactly how people would expect it to be with the newly worked suspension set up.
This one had literally no options so the center console looked terribly blank. But I can see how it would look much, much better with the tech package. The seats were terrible as well since it didnt have those lovely Recaros.
The car just feels smaller and nimbler. You can definitely feel it when you drive it. Ive driven previous generation models a lot so it's very promising.
The exterior is just fantastic. Just love it. The road presence is just amazing. I mean it's just a Mustang but people look at it as if it's something much more high profile.
Anyway, I loved it!

If it's that good, can you imagine the GT350?

Yeah man. Honda did a GREAT job on the new Accord. It's amazing.
I don't know guys. I really don't care about the regular seats when you can easily get the Recaros for pretty cheap. Don't matter if it's heated and cooled.

I agree that it should not really be a show-stopper given how impressive the rest of the car is.

There must be a mark up. lol
And I don't think I will ever purchase a Hellcat.. even though it's fast as heck!

markup usually is on the crap they add to the right side of the Manuf. sticker.

Yep.
The 5.0 Mustang I test drove yesterday had $5k mark up on the right side of sticker sheet.
The sales manager was about to brag about how special and had to put the mark up on it... I told him to just stop. He stopped.

according to this, if Hellcats are sitting too long on dealer floors because of markup, Dodge is going to allocate them to other dealers that are selling them quicker - who knows the real story but Dodge is making this effort.

Furthermore, how quickly the Hellcat sells is also going to decide whether showrooms get more of them. "If you want to market-adjust the car, that's your right. But if your days-on-lot goes above what the other guys that are selling them at MSRP is, they will end up earning the allocation because their days-on-lot will be lower," he said to Automotive News. Obviously, this doesn't prevent dealers from marking up the Challenger SRT, but the strategy certainly discourages it.

I think the mark ups are stupid.. but then I saw some people paying $100k on top of BMW i8's sticker.
Whats up with RDX owners?

I think it also applies to the Viper, since they now allow any dealer to sell it, not just preferred dealers.

Kinda like when the GT-R first arrived. The market will balance itself out...I'm hoping the Hellcat will become quite affordable in the used market in a couple of years.

Anything wider might be too much for the trans / diff.

How is the "total price" less than the "base price" on that hellcat sticker??
Nope, never mind, I'm on drugs. I thought the "6" was actually a "5" lol

thought it was drag radial

Yes.
You get faster times with DRs than with summer tires.
Most of the cars that get reviewed are on summer tires.

yeah, that's why I was saying if its street tires, then the time is legit. drag radials are street tires meaning street legal

i think it is in the 11s with stock street tires and most of us probably will be in the high 12s since we won't be able to launch it correctly.
Whats up with RDX owners?
iTrader: (9)
The auto would be much easier to launch, I think. And the stock tires were 11.3 I think. With an average Joe driver, it should be in the high 11s easily.
Which, from a factory four door, is absolutely insane.

I'm pretty sure the DRs they used were closer to slicks. The stock tires are P-zeros.
Just start in 2nd and try to keep it straight.

Hmm you have to keep my background in mind which involved lots of drag racing. Where I'm from, it would be pretty customary and not unexpected to have DR's on this car for daily use. And, when quoting a car's performance numbers it is completely legit to quote a number on DR's, especially for high performance cars such as this.
You could def be in the 11's easy with the Auto trans and launch control setup right.
