Seriously. Really sucks because I wanted to like this car.

I have no idea what to replace it with. The most reliable and best built cars are catastrophically boring.

Don't know what I'm going to replace it with when I do trade it (probably when I'm done school in May). I have two dogs and one car now.

I was thinking of a 2011 A6 3.0T Avant but they are huge and I have to be able to park in a garage in DC at least once a week.

I would look at a TSX wagon but I have a feeling they are slow and not that enjoyable to drive. I really need two cars again.
How about an A4 Avant?

They are on the list. Really wish they came with stick. I haven't had an automatic since I bought my first Mazda 3 in 2005.

GoPro has many things going for it, but when you get down to it, it's way overrated. It's a cheapass camera that caught the market first and is trying keep it's slice of it. I should know, some of our chips are in the latest gopro (to fix design issues).

The main thing against Action Cam is the AWB was off for underwater filming. It has a firmware fix now. It also doesn't record sound in slowmo. The ActionCam has great sound recording but the underwater housing muffles it. They created a flat cover to fix this. So $99 + cover ($10). Can't beat it.

Not a comparison of quality, but the image stabilization is a must. You want a pretty static mount as well.

I think I just need to get another Audi

2013 Allroads are starting to creep under $40k with <10K miles on them. Come May-June, I may be able to get one for $37K or so. The guys on Audizine seem to love theirs.

Yummy, I've thought about the S4 Avants but people that have them know what they're worth as a 6MT B7 S4 Avant is like a black astronaut riding a unicorn (Archer reference). I saw a 2008 S4 Avant with about 40K miles for $33K. A 2008 A4 would be about $19K. Just too much of a premium

Holy crap.

That's a huge mark-up...didn't realize they were that pricey for a 5-year old car.

Scrap that idea unless you're getting a grant from Altegris/BoostedJack. Is stick THAT much of a show-stopper for you? Otherwise, just get an auto S4 Avant and be done with it?

HJC AR10II is an SA 2010 and you can get it for around 200. Best bet is to go to a race shop and try a bunch on to see which fit your noggin's shape.

For a first track day just show up well rested and ready to learn and have fun.

I instruct HPDE in TX and it is a blast having a novice student open and willing to learn.

Think I'm just gonna rent one for this time. Gonna register for the event tomorrow. It's discounted down to $95 for a day. Beginner lessons and get to ride in some heavily modified FRS. Should be fun! Super excited.

Other option is a sedan S3 when it comes out. Will be the same price as a lightly used Allroad. Will have to wait to see when it launches.

That Actioncam is looking real good. Especially at that price.

The Actioncam vs Hero3 videos are even more eye opening. The Sony has better color and is better in low light.

... yeah the image stabilization is legit. Until GoPro does the same or gives a kickass gyro mount, they can't really compete, other than whore themselves, which they seem to be good at.

Yeah, much better lowlight performance as well. GoPro has a lot of noise in the dark.

I picked up an AS-10 with headband mount + 16gb card for $99 on a deal (not refurb'd). Went on a bike ride and took it in the car. There is a little rattle in the case when I hit big bumps but users say you can shim the edge and it's gone. Really loving it so far. Only thing that gets washed out is flourescent lights in low light.

I need to find out what the difference is between the AS-10, AS-15, and AS-30. More numbers mean more better, right?

AS-30 = AS-15 + stills + gps

My hope is that it comes with the same level of content as the base A3 as a base S3. I figure I can skip Nav and the sunroof, drive select, etc. If I can get one for around $40K, I may go that route.

The gps function of the new 30 is cool.. because it tracks speed, time, etc.. but it's finicky, and like most gps devices, needs perfect conditions to get it tracking right.

Wifi is cool because you can playback via wifi to a screen but it's a gimmick. If all you want is a kickass cam, get the AS-10.

Scored it from Wally world.. online (no buttplug req'd).

Oh.. they still have it, but this one doesn't come with a card. Still a good deal:

Don't listen to the little Kimchi who passed up an M3.

Go get an used A4 Avant before considering the A3.

It should, but the S3 will likely to have a base price of around $43k.

You will be better off chipping a A3 with sport package.

Anyway, may the odds be forever in your favor.

Buy a penthouse in Dubai and get a 2014 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster, for free

By
  • Parag Deulgaonkar

Published Thursday, January 02, 2014

Buyers of penthouses in Damac Maison, The Dubai Mall Street will be given a 2014 Lamborghini Aventador as part of the company’s Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) promotion.

“Customers buying a penthouse in Damac Maison, The Dubai Mall Street during DSF will be given a 2014 Lamborghini Aventador roadster with their purchase,” the company said in a statement sent to Emirates 24|7.

Designed by German architects Koschany & Zimmer, the tower is Damac’s first service hotel apartment project.

Buyers in other select properties will receive either a BMW or a Mini Cooper, depending on the size of the unit.

“Damac Properties’ DSF promotion is always highly anticipated and we see some of the best results of the year during this time,” said Niall McLoughlin, Senior Vice President, Damac Properties.

In 2013, penthouse buyers were offered a 2014 Audi R8; buyers of three-bed units will given an Audi A8; two bedroom were given an Audi A6 and one bed got an Audi A4.

In 2012, the developer offered a Lamborghini to penthouse buyers in their premium developments such as Ocean Heights, Burjside Boulevard and Damac Heights.

Damac Maison - The Distinction and Damac Maison - Upper Crest and Damac Residenze in Dubai Marina and a number of other projects are also part of 2014 DSF promotion.

Over the years during the DSF, Damac has given away luxury cars, yachts, a private jet and a private island in the Caribbean.

It's an Allroad and if you can look past the Vossens (I think that's what they are), the wagon sure has potential:

Obviously!

The Avants are fantastic looking cars, especially with a nice set of rims and a blacked out front grill.

I would look at a TSX wagon but I have a feeling they are slow and not that enjoyable to drive. I really need two cars again.

Mini Cooper?

I been in this BMW chassis since 2007 now. Itching for a change. But if it aint broke...

You DO realize the minute you own that Ford (a fine car), you're going to be wondering WTFBBQ made you ditch the M3...

And then, we'll all be -ing you until next decade for your WTFBBQ move. As nice as a Mustang is...you do not give up an M3 for it.
