Oh right, $75k. My bad.

Really makes the stingray look like a bargain though. Which it is.

And the Camaro will be a lot more $$ too.

As much as I abhor the Stingray's styling, $20K less and as fast at a track is a no-brainer.

75k for that Z28 is not bad at all. I know it's difficult to get past the "it's a Z28" thing - but realize that is essentially a street-legal race car. Not a bad price at all for a brand new race car, at that performance level.

I have no issues with the Z28 thing, I was actually hoping chevy was going to make a beast of one.

I just find it odd that the Z28 is a stripper model (thats still 3800lbs) and it will be just as fast around a track as the lighter Stingray. At least in the Stringray I can blast Godsmack and get my ass cooled by the ventilated seats.

It is what it is. But I can absolutely feel the car creaking in a way that I didn't in my Jetta wagon. And for a $30k MSRP, it just really grinds my gears that it's worse at 13k miles than my Jetta was at 77k.
Remove the sunroof? Several people with 3G TLs did it, although not to get rid of rattles. Still, end result should be the same.

The thing with the Camaro is that you start with something that looks like shit inside and out. So once you add the improvements of the ZL1/Z28, it's a hell of a car, but it still looks like shit inside and out. If you can get past the looks, those cars are a great deal. But for that kind of money, I'd have to think my car looked great in addition to performing great.

God, I would imagine I would destroy any value that car has if I had the hole welded shut and the roof repainted :/

I would probably be better off just getting a '14 ST without the roof. Which I considered.

I actually like the camaro...and I like that the refresh fixed the rear end. The interior was always give or take with me.

But if the Challenger hadn't been offered in a stick, I would have probably ended up with an SS.

Of course, I would have also probably already sold it, too...

I actually like the new rear of the Camaro, but the interior and the Hot Wheels looking front end kill the look for me.

Oh, and being nearly 2 tons.

Who knew the Accord was such a market changing design - first the C-Class coupe, then the new Mustang.

It occasionally has the idle issue but the larger issue is that the interior build quality just stinks. It creaks and rattles more at 12k miles than my Jetta wagon did at 75k miles. And considering it's less than a year old and I paid as much for it as I did my Audi five years ago, I am just at the end of my tether with this car.

Seriously what a disappointment. Goes to show how much build quality can vary, as my ST does not rattle at all and the moonroof has been glorious for me.

I haven't contacted Randy @ FSWERKS in a few months, so I emailed him asking for the latest version of his tune and I installed it over the weekend. Seems there is a good improvement in power and throttle response. Damn, is it spring yet? Traction control kept kicking in on my way to work this morning as I would barely touch the gas and the tires would spin in this winter crap on the ground.

This car is so much fun.

I had no idea they were such rattleboxes.

There's a part of me that wants to buy used (aside to save some $$) because if I find something with 5-6K miles on it, it will have had enough use to start showing flaws.

That sucks because even with super hard engine mounts, my MS3 never had any rattles or creaks.

I think the sunroof is something other people are complaining about. But there have been some really boneheaded things like someone putting an un-dyed interior trim panel (was uncolored plastic) even though the rest of the car is black, people dropping bolts and just finishing the car, etc.

So while they might not be widespread, it doesn't make me feel like that plant has full shifts of conscientious workers.
