Aren't most, if not all, windshields UV blocking anyway? Wouldn't that drastically reduce any aging effects from the get go? Biggest thing the shade would do is lower the interior temp which is also an aging factor though not nearly as much as UV exposure.

If i were to get his dash, i would just spend $300 and tint my windshield with Crystaline (90% visibility, so they look clear), Those tintz are amazing.

Heat, yes. UV exposure no. I said that in my post no? You're right though, we don't really need sunshades here most of the year. During the summer it gets fucking hot and humid out though, probably hotter here in the summer than in socal.

lol. snow tires and 4WD is the best recipe for success but it's not the snow that gets you, it's the cold.

I think so, but it definitely helps! I did the testing with different UV sprays and sun screen for awhile. It looks brand new with both.

Of course, people like me park it in the garage all the time are the best. haha

Full dash wrap for this RHD Legacy! The car has the 2.5 STI engine, it was actually super fast.

He said it's a RHD conversion. His brother and cousin came with him. They all had RHD Subies. hahahahaha The whole family is into it, so they have like 8 Subies or something. It's crazy.

Well that's really really cool.
And about the UV vs Heat Debate...from the perspective of the capital of dash cracks in the 3G and some pretty extensive research...
the KEY to not having it crack is to keep ambient temperature from going extreme high to extreme low...the thing has a life cycle and at some point after too much extreme it will split.
So I keep window visors to keep windows cracked and the covercraft sun shade up...yes, all sun shades do block the sun to a degree, but there are levels of uv protection and the main thing with covercraft is it has an insulated layer.
I had forgotten how great a job it did until I had a loaner TLX without anything. After work getting in the car was brutal...my TL is actually just warm when I get in at the end of the day.

Now obviously that doesn't cover the other issue you're trying to avoid, which is fade. UV sunscreen and any shade keeping the sun off it should help enough to where the person won't have to worry about it.

Yeah! I made them in white and black. Some guys who I have partially sponsored have the big ones made themselves on the car.

This crazy FRS came over for some shifter and ebrake boot this morning. This guy is really popular in 86 show car scene. Probably going to sponsor him to do his interior soon.

This photoshoot was like done in 10 mins in front of my house.

I should have just done Tyler's photoshoot at my place after we installed his headliner. His photoshoot in the canyon at 1PM under the sun was not a great idea. hahaha

I have the same one, I don't know because I never park it outside.

When I used to have something like that in my MS3, I had those condom looking cover for the knob. Worked well.

Always had parking garage at work, and now I work at home so it rarely sees the sun. hahahaha

The one hour buffer around sunrise and sunset for photography is a great little tidbit to remember.
