Living the Dream
Cool cloud formation from the other day. Pic taken from my (new) front porch 
Not terribly happy with how dark the foreground is, but I am not sure how to get around that. Still trying to play with Photoshop Elements. Let me know what you think.

So i got invited backstage last night at Ruby Skye in SF since my friend had a show that night. I brought along my NEX-6 and took some shots while 
hmm.... quite noisy. and the lighting is totally random and not really timed or anything with the music. Was shooting ambient mostly at iso6400 1/25th f2.8 16mm (24mm FF)

Did you do any noise reduction in post processing? And you should try that trick of reducing megapixels/downsizing file for noise reduction

Meh, shitty lighting, moving subject, there's no way I was going to shoot it at 1/250-1/400 (which is normally where I have it at fashion shows), wasn't about to crank up the iso for it. But in the end the outfit is more important than the model and the outfit looks fine to me

Ya it was super intense thunderstorm clouds. I had to pull off the road and snap some pics this was a 9 shot pano . Would of been a money shot if I had a lighting strike in the shot. I tried to do a couple long exposures to capture some lighting but failed I think the storm was moving to quickly

Incredible shot, Matt....wow.
I've never light painted people before...so why not try it on a high profile one of shot. Next time I think I'll paint the vehicle and strobe the people. I did the shot about 6 times knowing I would have to use pieces of each to 'build' the guys to remove movement from them breathing. Turned out ok I think...I came away knowing what I need to do next time.

So I went to Hawaii over the weekend and rented the metabones speedbooster so I could use my canon glass with my NEX-6.
Here's one of the long exposures I took with it using my 24-70 2.8 lens. It's a quick edit using the PS Express app on my iPad.
