If you can get deposit back, reserve it and put deposit down so you'll have more time to think it over

Cant do that.
Im heading up there tomorrow around 2pm. I just got off the phone with the GM at the dealer. He said that Im one of 9 on the east coast to get the car early. No one else in VA will have one.
He also said that Toyota Corp asked if I would change my email address (it references Honda)
Once I put the deposit down, theyll get the build initiated. They will be sending me pics throughout the entire build process too

Thanks guys, Im getting incredibly excited about this car. Ive already got a list of things I plan to do.
I read an article earlier about Scion letting aftermarket companies inspect and take measurements off various parts of the car so they would have parts ready at launch. One company rep said the fenders have nearly no lip at all, so aggressive wheel fitments are possible. It looks like you could also fit up to a 10" wide rear in the rear with minimal modifications

The engine requires a dry sump oil system since the engine is mounted so low.
I spy a snail
Heres another with an EJ25 swap.

I think it'll be wise of me to focus on the chassis first and honing my skill as this will be my first RWD car. Once Ive got a few track days under my belt (and there will be track days ), Ill focus on adding some more power. By that time, who knows what sort of aftermarket goodies there will be for this car.

I would say light rims good tires sway bars and good coilovers to begin... I would leave engine stock to see what they gonna come up with...
Thats what i would do and i may get one too but still not decided on which one... Brz or frs or should i wait for sti... :sigh:Scion name reminds me of tc racers which pushes me away... Maybe its just me...

My Camaro was my first RWD car and it gets loose easily in the wet. The very first time it happened I instinctively countersteered and eased off the gas... it wasn't perfect but it was completely natural. You'll learn and love cornering with the gas pedal. Nothing against FWDs but doing so will usually result in you going wider than intended.
All those years playing Gran Turismo and Forza as well as some reinforcing words and common sense.... made sure I was okay. Sooner or later you'll want to kick out the rear on purpose and man will it be glorious when you pull it off.
I'm excited for you, even without you commenting in this thread it feels like this is the perfect car for you.

-Toyota badges (maybe)
-Tint
-Debadge
-Polish and ceramic coat paint
-Wheels; Advans, Works, or Weds
-Suspension, suspension, suspension
-Black out headlights and possibly a projector swap
-All red tails (if I dont like the stockies in person)
Ill be making sure they dont prep the car, drive it, or mount the front plate on it. No dealership stickers either.
Ive read a few more articles and the suspension and brake components are all Subaru parts. They even mentioned that they are very similar to stock WRX parts, in which case, there are tons of parts already on the market.
I keep getting frustrated as car after car keeps gaining weight. To see this car, a 2013 model, come to market at around 2700lbs was a dream. I just didn't expect it from Toyota.
Back when I was in high school I used to say Id never drive a Toyota. But that was when the S2k and NSX were still being produced
Im heading out to the dealer around 2pm, Ill let you guys know how it goes.

I really can't wait for you to get this car. Sorta sad to see the CL back to (mostly) stock form but it will be well worth it

Yes, yes it will
And Im not rushing off to part out the CL, but I do have a very small list of things to sell off of it when I find the right buyer.
The sun peaked out, Ive got to go wash the car. Shower, hit up the dealer, then go to work. I need more OT

Florence Scion said $500 down and he will order what I want the second week of april when they do their ordering. He said I should have it in first shipment which he is thinking will be mid may. Still not sure if I want this thing or not. Or what color, or what options.
look forward to seeing what you think of it civicdrivr.

From what I read online, the dealers wont be getting them for general sale to the public until the first week of June.
They couldn't provide an ETA for my car, but it seems to be a general concensus that it will be delivered some time in late April/early May.
We'll see though, they are going to be emailing updates throughout the entire process.

I'd be inclined to wait a year for a 2014. Guys will be snagging these for invoice or maybe a tad over once the buzz dies down. For the Subaru anyway. No idea how Scion does things.

Scion does Pure Pricing, you pay MSRP. No haggling. Its good because there no markup, but its bad because theres usually no discount. Since the dealers make most of their money on the accessories, thats where you negotiate. Obviously thats only good if you are getting accessories - which I am not, unless they are giving them to me at no cost.

For Subaru, I see that happening at a few of the shittier dealers.

edit: although if you're one of the first ones getting it you wont get a discount. They'll just find someone else since i bet you arent the only one.
