I'll admit, some of those pics make the car look hawt
The exhaust on the first red one looks pretty sweet integrated into the rear like that.
Not too sure about the STi-ish wing on that one
What's up with the :ghey: sticker on the second red car?

- lots of testers have achieved these times

I haven't driven either one either, so I haven't the slightest clue really between those 2 cars.

The GTR better run 11's with close to 550hp and AWD
In the end, the GTR is a great car. It's just not god's chariot like the fanboys make it out to be. I am eagerly awaiting the next gen Porsche and Vette's. These street cars are getting to the point that they are too fast to be tested at the Ring. Walther Rohrl stated this in an interview regarding the Carrera GT.

Though I'm not a fan of the car, it would be cool to have the first U.S. GT-R

We're used to movie, video game, and book releases occurring at midnight, but a new-car delivery? Daryl Alison of Costa Mesa, California, was handed the keys to his black 2009 GT-R at 12:01 am Pacific on July 7, 2008, the first official day of GT-R sales.
Alison is the first U.S. customer to take delivery of Nissan's twin-turbo V-6 sports coupe. The ceremony took place at Universal City Nissan in Los Angeles, one of a select few GT-R Certified Nissan stores in the country.
As of the first day of sales, more than 1700 U.S.-bound GT-Rs have been spoken for, or about 70 percent of cars allocated for the country, so it's not too late to get in line.

Steve Millen answers Skeptics on GT-R
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/S...GTR_170353.htm
Poor audio quality but still bearable
Cliffnote:
- A GT-R is easy to drive fast at 80% to 90%. But at 100% it is just as tricky as any other car.
- The GT-R IS capable of 7:29 on the N'ring without a doubt
- In an upcoming GT-R comparo in Road and Track, the GT-R reportedly bests the 911 GT2 around Buttonwillow!

- Please don't start questioning the driving abilities of a guy who is the most winningest driver in IMSA history.
- Steve Millen was a factory driver for GM. And for Porsche. And for a bunch of other car companies. Questioning his "affliations" is childish.
Any more excuses?

How do you explain C&D's editors wringing a faster time out of the Z06 than Steve Millen, who is the "winningest driver in IMSA history"? That makes no sense to me. I've seen what a pro driver can do and what a well know pro driver can do on the race track. The diference in lap times is pretty amazing considering that they both have amazing car control abilities.
I'd love to see Lou Gigliotti/Ron Fellows driving the Vette and a Porsche factory (Walter Rohrl) driver testing the Porsche. Then let's see which car is the fastest when you have the best drivers matched to their respective vehicles.
Lastly, why do all you fanboys get your panties in a bunch when someone questions the GT-R? It's a great car, but it certainly isn't perfect.

The last time Walter Rohrl got behind the wheel of a GT2, and Jan M got behind the wheel of a Z06, and Toshio Suzuki got behind the wheel of a GT-R they laid down 7:43, 7:32, and 7:29 on the N'ring.
Your right, the GT-R is a great car - lets give it due credit. The "its boring to drive" and "its ugly" and "its pre-production" are getting old. And as flattered as I am to be called a fanboi I'm sadly not - I would much rather have an R8 or a GT3 as my next purchase. Maybe driving a GT-R will change my mind.

The Ring times are obviously not a good comparison. I still feel that Nissan provided a ringer. Like I mentioned, I'd love to see an independent run of the GTR at the ring. So far, there has been none. Hell I'd love to see all cars run by witnesses to make sure they are showroom stock.
I think Nissan hit a home-run in terms of performance. Sorry, the GT-R is ugly in my humble opinion. Chevy and Porsche will have their answers to the GT-R shortly. Everyone forgets that Nissan had many years to watch the competition. Chevy and Porsche have had their respective models in market for a few years.

Ok fine. I now have total respect for the GTR in terms of performance and price.

Guys at Top Gear CRASH the GTR
Top Gear Magazine was recently having some fun on the Isle of Man with a Nissan GT-R, but the playtime ended unexpectedly when the driver of the GT-R slammed on the brakes. That would be fine in any normal car, but Godzilla came to a halt so abruptly that the Audi R8 behind it just couldn't stop quickly enough.
