yeah i don't get the all-new part. aside from a few minor changes, it's essentially the same interior design.

yea it's kind of sad to see one of hondas most important vehicles just barely get an update (visually)

I owned an 06 and this interior is basically a stretched and molded version of my 06!

I thought that this version was going to be an evolution, and not a complete revolution from the current design.

WTF? I've never really disliked the two-tiered or "cyclops" dash of the Civic, but the update has no cohesiveness whatsoever. It's like someone thought "lulz, lets push the top tier back another foot"

I'd hate to think of what the 2011 Civic was supposed to look like, if it make Takanobu Ito go "yeck" and he approved of this

Perhaps Honda got smart.......

All the current "new" designs from them have been

....the new civic was heading down that road too......so they put a stop to it.......didn't want to deep six the bread and butter Honda.......so they "tweaked" the existing civic instead of a complete redesign.

Sure it's not new and exciting.....but at least it's not gonna ugly up the place like the last few new Honda vehicles.

It just need LED lights.

More of an evolution than a revolution, not sure what the pushed-back R&D'ing was about. certainly wasn't for the exterior, that's for sure.

Definitely did not do enough to change it. More evolution than revolution. Wish Honda and Acura would do more to change styles and their vehicles between generations.

Hoping it looks better in other colors, but I dunno. It has more of that tall "tippy" look. My first thought was Sentra....which IMO is ugly.

Overall, meh. It's not disgusting, but it's not pretty, either.

I can't believe it's still going to have that weird crooked interior. I really hate that look.

The wheels, however, are disgusting. Interior, too.

It wont look bad. Front is now alot closer to Honda City styling cues along with that tall narrow stance.

I doubt those wheels are going to end up on the production car. That rear end is seriously ugly though.

90% sure that those wheels are just placeholder wheel covers. edit: urgh, what ^he said

The interior looks quite different from the 8G Civic. That "crooked interior" isn't for looks.... it's for ergonomics (I hope). Personally I'm a fan of the driver-centric interiors that were so prevalent in the 90's and just plain died off in the 00's. Most people drive with just themselves in the car, and most of the time regardless of how many people are in the car, the driver is going to be controlling the HVAC, radio, etc. so it only makes sense to have everything oriented towards the driver

That is an absolute abomination. Looks like a Suzuki SX4/ 1G prius from the rear. Why would they try to make it tall and narrow like the Sentra WTF

You have to wonder how could it have been worse in its previous incarnation that they passed up.

...and to think they went back to the drawing board for this

Honda has a new ugly duckling to compliment the already lineup!

It's now almost embarrassing to own and drive a Honda/Acura vehicle.

Wow, that was disappointing. I don't know if that Corolla/insight abortion is the Civic, but that shouldn't be it. Honestly, I expect shit design from Korea, not Honda.

Thanks for bringing it back. This one was well deserved.

So what exactly was so substantially changed that they had to delay this car. Seems like they scrapped their larger Civic plans and revamped the existing platform?

Maybe that is the problem. They worked so long on the other car, then scrambled in a year to re-design it for a smaller package. Rush job I guess?
