More rumors of a 2.5L
Details are sketchy, but GoAuto understands the Euro will have very similar styling to Honda’s 2005 Tokyo motor show car, the Sports 4 Concept, along with a larger 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine.

Found this over at TOV. Letter from Acura to its dealers.
So unless Acura plans to introduce the all new TSX sometime very soon, looks like the 08 will remain unchanged. Since the 08 is arriving so early, stands to reason it will only be around until the spring when the all new 09 debuts.
"2007 TSX
BUILDOUT - This is the final allocation for MY07 TSX. The MY08 TSX will be available on the next allocation (May MOVE allocation).
The following color will no longer be available for the 2007 model year TSX: Deep Green Pearl (GG/PA). This color is currently scheduled to be offered again for 2008 model year TSX in August 2007, and the remainder of the 2008 model year."

Very interesting ... *pure speculation* -- it sounds as if November 2007 (Tokyo Autoshow) will be the debut for the JDM Accord Euro-R (aka Acura TSX). Once it's out in Japan ... it should be out a couple months later at the Detroit show (Acura "world debut") and be on sale at the dealerships locally shortly thereafter.
That would make sense to me!

So basically nothing changes and Honda will just arbitrarily choose some date to start calling them MY08 cars. So we get about 8 months (11/06-7/07) of an 07 labeled TSX and then another 8? months (7/07-3/08?) of 08 labeled TSX. Let me guess, another $200 MSRP increase for a no change car.
Maybe Honda didn't want to step on the toes of the "big" Accord with the TSX launch.

I don't see a problem here. Honda goes with 5 model years on a generation all the time, how is this any different? In fact I can't even think of a recent Honda that was on a 4 year cycle?
Giving the next TSX the spotlight in the spring and the Accord this fall makes alot of sense as well. These are two huge rollouts if you factor in the rest of the world.

I hate mid year releases... I like the the standard "New MY out in Sept" that most automakers follow...
Im sure alot of people crossshop the TSX and Accord, so if does make sense to have some separation for th FMC of the 2...
Sometimes I wonder if anyone over at H/A is doing any kind of long term planner with the overall Honda/Acura Lineup at all... They have a standard design cycle, but don't seem to stick to their own standards Killing the NSX without a replacement was a huge mistake IMHO, and having the FMC change for the USDM Accord and TSX occuring at around the same time is a mistake...
Do they have monkeys running the Strategic Planning and Marketing departments over there ??
<-- still bitter about the dicontinuation of the CL... the CL should have been marketed towards younger college grads and not aging empty nesters....

Well, the rest of the world doesn't have this MY mentality so intro-ing the TSX whenever it makes sense makes sense.
So, the bottom line is we'll have a repeat of 1gen TSX - intro in the spring with MY09 running for 18mo. with perhaps some derivative (diesel?, no SH-AWD option) thrown in there somewhere along the line.

As for the diesel, keep dreaming. The Accord will see the diesel long before the TSX or TL will.

I was told last yr by Acura people that SH-AWD would be the main focus on all new model changes...ie RDX,MDX......TSX should get the same up front...more $$s...torque and HP should be at least the level of the current Accord-v6 211/240.....hate to see a turbo..
Any $$s added to the 09 TSX price will just move the 09 TL up to the G-35/37 level and cut down on cross shop of TSX with Honda...spring 08 will be good but it may be fall 08?
If I stay with Acura, I do not plan to jump tell a coupe hits...would prefer the TL size(not to mention torque/hp) coupe......

Is there any car which has a V6 that isn't nose heavy? I mean other than maybe a G35? I ask beacuse, putting a J30 v6 from the ACcord into the TSX might not be a good idea if it throws off the balance. Also Honda should discontinue 6 speed Accords and make the V6 and 6 speed in the TSX if they can pull off the weight balance dilemma.

And the TSX doesn't need a V6 although the extra power would be liked by many. The Turbo K series motor would be enough IMO.

Better yet, a diesel hybrid would be awesome as the current 2.2L diesel in the Euro Accord is slower than the K24 2.4L gas motor and well the hybrid will make it faster and more likely more fuel efficient too.

Acura personnel gave me a strong hint that TSX will offer a coupe for MY09...SH will roll out on all new models, ie..09 TSX and TL......no mention of engine, HP, torque or release date.........TOV makes a good case for 09 TSX in early 08...

Well ... sounds like I got my wife a nice grocery-getter. Too bad it didn't come with the 6MT... Maybe it's for the best -- she is in stop-and-go border traffic and would go bonkers trying to climb up the incline at the tunnel each weekday.

The all-new Accord range will boast one of the first all-Euro 5-compliant engine line-ups which will consist of two i-VTEC petrol engines of 2.0 and 2.4-litre capacities and a newly developed 2.2-litre i-DTEC next-generation diesel engine. Compared to the current Accord engine line-up, power output will be boosted and emissions and fuel economy significantly improved.
The latest engines will be complemented by innovative new chassis technology that will deliver exceptional handling, greater linear stability and a more involving driving experience without compromising ride comfort.
The all-new Accord will debut in Sedan and Tourer forms at the 2008 Geneva motor show.
The all-new i-DTEC is the 2nd diesel engine Honda has developed. By further improving the current award winning i-CTDi's superb performance, fuel economy and emission efficiencies, i-DTEC has achieved various stringent emission standards in the U.S., Japan and Europe (Honda test data).
The first phase of the programme - compliance with the Euro 5 legislation expected in 2009 - has already reached fruition, and an example of the new engine, which makes its first appearance in next year's Accord range, is being shown on the stand.
Honda continues to work on the second phase of development of its latest diesel engine and has already achieved compliance with the stringent US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier II/Bin 5 emissions requirements. This is of particular significance to the European market in that the Tier II standards are even more demanding than the Euro 6 requirements which remain at the proposal stage. An example of this engine is also on display at the stand.
